We will be pouring a great line-up of amazing, "under-the-radar" wines that truly deserve (and will get) your attention.  Join us and savor these wonderful releases, crafted by two skilled "cult" winemakers.  As usually, there will be several bonus wines from other regions as well.

About Winemaker John Maltus

Jonathan Maltus, frequently termed a "Garagiste" and "Cult winemaker" collaborates with the oenologist Neil Whyte and consultant oenologist Gilles Pauquet. Among Maltus' other winemaking projects is The Colonial Estate in Barossa Valley and Eden Valley incorporating some vines previously used for Penfolds Grange, producing labels such as Exile, and Émigré. A 2008 venture in Napa Valley is scheduled under the Estate name, World's End. In February 2008, Maltus acquired the remainder of Vieux Château Mazerat, neighbouring estate of Château Angélus, adding 6 hectares (15 acres) to the plot bought in 1996 which produces the fruit for Le Dôme.

About Winemaker Karen Culler

Graduating from UC Davis in 1984, she started a 6 month internship at Robert Mondavi Winery in their Research Department.  Six months turned into two years and when Robert Mondavi purchased Vichon Winery, Karen moved to Vichon as Assistant Winemaker in 1986.  In 1989, she became Winemaker.  Vichon gave Karen the opportunity to experience the vineyards of Napa Valley, northern and central-coast California, and the south of France.  In 1997, she realized she was most interested in her own backyard, Napa and Sonoma, and started her own label, Culler Wines.  In addition Culler, she is the consulting winemaker for Anselmo, Wolf Family Vineyards and Ladera Vineyards.

Like her superstar female colleagues such as the incredibly talented Heidi Barret [Screaming Eagle] and Celia Welch Masyczek [Scarecrow, Staglin], Karen has demonstrated her skills with some amazing Napa Cabernet and Cabernet blends.

"An under-the-radar estate with top-notch wines...There are 525 cases of this excellent bargain." (2007 Wolf Family "Phaedrus" Cabernet Sauvignon) -Robert Parker
