"An old-school style, this complex red features an array of cherry, berry, leather, tobacco and underbrush flavors, backed by a dense, beefy structure. Long and powerful, with a savory, saline aftertaste. Shows ample fruit up front, but should be better in two to three years. Best from 2019 through 2036. 550 cases made." – BS (Feb 28, 2017)

94 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2010 Barolo Castiglione is beautiful in the way it brings together the vibrancy of the year with a soft, inviting textural presence. Freshly cut flowers, mint, sweet spices, anise and red berries are all woven together nicely in the glass. With time in the glass, the wine blossoms with exquisite finesse, floral aromatics and exquisite overall balance. Ripe, silky tannins support the exquisite finish. An insanely beautiful wine, the 2010 will give readers a good idea of just how great the 2010 vintage is at Vietti. The Barolo Castiglione is made from a large number of parcels across the Barolo zone, many of which are of a high enough level of quality that they could be bottled separately. This is first-class juice." - (Jan 2014)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2010 Barolo Terlo bursts from the glass with gorgeous energy and vibrancy. Freshly cut flowers, mint, crushed rocks and sweet red berries flesh out nicely. This is one of the more appealing and accessible 2010 Barolos readers will find for near and medium-term enjoyment. Much of that comes from a relatively short period of vinification (15-16 days), with no post-fermentation macerations, a choice that emphasizes fruit and soft tannins. Still this is a serious wine. Hints of leather, tobacco and dried flowers add complexity on the finish." -Antonio Galloni (January 2014)

94+ Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and leather are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass in Einaudi's 2010 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi. Explosive and full-bodied to the core, the 2010 is a huge, intense wine endowed with tons of richness and sheer concentration. The 2010 is going to require significant patience. Today it is a bit bombastic, but hopefully finesse will develop in bottle. In the face of a cold vintage, Einaudi decided to basically trim the bunches in half in order to give the fruit the best chance to ripen. The resulting wine is massive yet also impeccably balanced." -Antonio Galloni (January 2014)

"Ca’ Rome’s 2010 Barolo Rapèt is floral, delicate and quite accessible for the year. Sweet red berries, tobacco, anise and savory herbs develop in the glass over time in a medium-bodied, fragrant Barolo with tons of near-term appeal. Today, the 2010 impresses for its punchy, bright fruit and terrific overall balance." -Antonio Galloni (January 2014)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2010 Barolo Vigna Cerretta is a wine of enormous intensity and textural richness. Compact, heavier soils result in a bold, velvety quality of fruit with lingering tones of dark plum and prune over spice and leather. This Barolo delivers most of its brawn on the bouquet: The mouthfeel is light handed and delicate. Drink: 2016-2028." - Monica Larner (Jul 2014)
