TASTING NOTES
Bright grenadine in colour with shades of violet. Mature aroma of forest
fruit, blackberries, cherries, figs and cistus, with a floral hint.
Smooth and fresh on the palate, with the length and expressive aromas
characteristic of an Upper Douro wine.
VINTAGE NOTES
2007 was a year with an unusually cool start to the summer in the Upper Douro, allowing the grapes on our estates to ripen slowly and gradually, reaching ideal maturity with the above-average temperatures in early September. The ripening process produced grapes with an optimal acid/sugar balance and very expressive aromas, two characteristics that define the Duas Quintas red 2006.
VINIFICATION
The grapes are handpicked in 150-kilo crates, pressed, destalked and then fermented in steel vats at a temperature of no more than 25º. Maceration continues for long enough to produce a wine with the desired body and structure. Following malolactic fermentation in vats, 20% of the wine is aged in French oak barrels and the rest remains in the steel vats. The wine is bottled 18 months later.
GASTRONOMY & STORAGE
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes very well with soups, starters and salads. We particularly recommend it with dishes of fowl: roast chicken, duck risotto and quail, and with soft cheeses. Serve between 17º and 19ºC. Store the bottle on its side in a cool, dry and dark place.

Ratings & Reviews
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:"The
2007 DUAS QUINTAS (DQ) ADRIANO RAMOS PINTO is a blend taken from the
winery’s Quinta dos Bon Ares and Quinta de Ervamoira vineyards, composed
of Touriga Franca (40%), Tinta Roriz (40%) and Touriga Nacional (20%).
This is certainly one of the best “regular” Tintos from Ramos Pinto that
I’ve had. Elegant and focused, it has enough tannin to provide some
intensity and support for the fruit, and it has impeccable balance,
pleasing flavors and a nice finish relative to its modest price.
Admittedly, it lacks much depth—so drink this in the nearer term, when
it will show its best—but it does show surprisingly good structure for
its price category, together with clean, pristine fruit. Drink now-2016.
Ramos Pinto, always known for its art, displayed some new graphics and
branding this year. The first novelty is the “Collection” line with its
fancy new artwork. This is a mid-priced entrant between the Duas Quintas
Reserva and the regular DQ, but not yet imported. Also, the former
Adriano line has been rebranded here to reflect how it is sold in
Portugal—as the Duas Quintas non-reserve." - Mark Squires (Feb 2010)
Wine Enthusiast Magazine:"A rich, concentrated wine, very linear in its progression from black fruit and smoke aromas through the dense palate of figs and blackberry to the toast and final acidity. It has tannins that act as a firm base." - R.V. (12/15/2009)
Wine Spectator Magazine:"This well-concentrated and fruity-tasting red exhibits plenty of raspberry, dark cherry and braised fig flavors, finishing with mocha and spice. Drink now. 2,200 cases imported." –KM (Mar 31, 2010)
Wine & Spirits Magazine:"Bright acidity lifts the tart cherry and green anise flavor of this wine. It needs time in a decanter for the fruit to soften up the tannins, then serve it with roast lamb. (Apr 2010)"
