Notes from the Winemaker:

"lambda" has a fabulous deep dark garnet red color, brimming with aromas of sweet Indian spices and cherry cola and demonstrates a truly elegant burgundian nose. The flavors are packed with rich dark cherries, spices and earth giving way to a smooth finish that lingers on forever.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
:
"Vivid red. Sexy, pure aromas of red berries, Moroccan spices and musky herbs. Silky, spicy and concentrated, with an enticing sweetness to its strawberry and raspberry flavors. This expressive wine really stains the palate with sappy red fruit and spice qualities. The long finish features a touch of bitter blood orange." - Josh Raynolds (Nov/Dec '10)

90 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"A moderately deeply pitched nose of dark berries, black cherry and blue fruit hints leads to rich, concentrated and attractively textured flavors as there is an ample amount of dry extract that buffers the firm tannins on the mildly austere and dusty finish. I like the sense of restraint and underlying complexity and this should reward 3 to 5 years of cellar time, perhaps a bit more. Worth considering." (Jan 01, 2011)

Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Vivid ripe cherry and cranberry flavors are full-bodied and woven through with a touch of gaminess. Ends with supple yet firming tannins. Drink now through 2016. 936 cases made." –JL (Nov 30, 2010)

90-93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Intense, elegant and balanced, full-bodied, with complex, earthy blueberry and wild berry fruit that gains depth and nuance, ending with a long, tight finish. 980 cases made." —J.L.  (barrel sample - futures tasting) (April 2009)

93 Points - Gold Medal - Tastings.com:
"Brilliant ruby color. Bright aromas of chocolate, cherry butter and raspberry jam with a supple, round dry-yet-fruity medium body and a tangy watermelon granita, tamarind, and mineral accented finish. Nice vibrancy and sense of place; pair with spicy tuna ceviche." (Oct 2010)
