Notes from the Winemaker:

I am excited to announce the initial release of our 2008 Amulet Napa Valley Red Wine. We are fortunate here to have access to some of the finest and most sought after fruit in the Napa Valley and we have used it to create Amulet. This wine is a showcase of traditional Bordeaux varietals that includes primarily Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rutherford and Oakville Appellations, Cabernet Franc from St. Helena, Merlot from Spring Mountain, and Petit Verdot from Pritchard Hill.

An Amulet is any object intended to bring good luck or protection to its owner, such as a four-leaf clover, a Saint Benedict medal or a horseshoe.

Having grown up in the Napa Valley tending to grape vines and making wine most of my life, my own personal amulet is the grape vine itself, which has given me and my family so much over the years. The artwork on the Amulet label is an artists rendering of horizontally cut Cabernet Sauvignon grape vine. I hope this bottle of Amulet brings you as much good fortune as the vines that produced it have given to me.
