Notes from the Winemaker:Argiano’s Brunello di Montalcino has an intense ruby-red color. A good concentration in the mid-palate and a persistent aftertaste, yet round and luscious in body, with silky and interesting tannins. It combines power and elegance and indicates a much promising future. Together with the captivating perfumes of red fruits and the clean freshness, the complexity of the wine proves an optimal balance. Decant the wine for at least 1 hour before drinking for an optimum enjoyment.
Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - James Suckling:"Blueberry and plum, with lemon rind and flowers. Full body, with chewy tannins and a bright finish. Lemon rind character. Drink now." (Jan 25, 2012)
91 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:"Youthful, oak-driven Brunello that needs more time to integrate. Plum, ripe fruit with chewy, rich density. Blackberry, prune, plum and cherry. Spice, leather and tobacco too. Still shows some tightness or sharpness in the mouth." —M.L. (1/19/2012)
93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2006 vintage):"The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a gorgeous wine laced with red cherries, tobacco, cedar and underbrush, all supported by a firm tannic spine. Argiano’s 2006 Brunello shows beautiful inner perfume and the structure to develop positively for a number of years. Floral notes appear on the vibrant, polished finish. The estate’s Brunello spent 12 months in French oak (which is mostly felt in the wine’s textural richness) and completed its aging in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024." - Antonio Galloni (May 2011)
