Notes from the Winemaker:Wine Information:
This full-bodied wine has a garnet red core with a pink rim, and has a sweetly intense nose with aromas of overripe cherries, cedar wood, and liquorice. The palate is round, quite fresh, well balanced, and harmonious.
Made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in calcarous, clayey marl with southern exposure, the wine is macerated on the skins in steel rotary fermentors for 5-7 days, then matured in medium capacity casks for 24 months.

Ratings & Reviews
94 Points - James Suckling:
Perfumed and almost smoky with plum and berry undertones. Then turns to flowers. Full body, with rich and velvety tannins and a solid core of fruit. Dried strawberries and prunes. Rich and beautiful. Amazing quality for the blended Barolo from here. From vines of 70 percent Serralunga and 30 percent Castiglione Falleto.
90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Good deep red. Very fresh aromas of black cherry and licorice. Sweet and seamless, with attractive reserve and lift to its dark fruit and menthol flavors. Less showy and complex today than the 2008 version but more serious. Finishes with solid but ripe tannins and excellent vinosity." - Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Oct '11)
