About This Wine:

PRESENTATION OF THE NAMING
The most upstream of all the vineyards along the river Loire, the "Côte du Forez" spreads its naming area over 17 communes located halfway between LYON and CLERMONT-FERRAND.

The type of wine "GAMAY NOIR A JUS BLANC" (type St Romain) is grown there on about 200 h of granitic soils, and even basaltic ones around the volcanoes.

The 3rd November 1999 will forever be engraved on our memories as the day of the rise for our vineyards to the prestigious "APPELLATION D’ORIGINE CONTROLEE".

PRESENTATION OF THE WINE GROWING PROPERTY Gilles BONNEFOY
Created in 1997 from disused vineyards, the enterprise has progressively expanded to reach today a production surface of 6.30 h.
In 2001, 4h were planted with vines. They started producing in 2003.A conversion to organic agriculture was started in 2001. This has allowed the using of the logo “organic agriculture” from the harvest 2004 on.
- NATURE OF THE SOILS : mainly volcanic origins (volcanic rocks)
