Notes From The Winemaker ('06 vintage):

Our third varietally designated Grenache wine to come from the rocky soils of the Dry Stack Vineyard located in the Bennett Valley AVA, a cooler sub-region of the Sonoma Valley Appellation. Wines possessing exotic aromatics and rich fruit flavor are what make this vineyard and region so unique. The ’06 Grenache shows red fruits, along with kirsch, clove, black currants and pepper spice. This wine is concentrated and focused, yet retains elegance and restraint through its balance.

"From another cool climate area in Sonoma's Bennett Valley, the 2006 Grenache Dry Stack Vineyard is even more impressive. Dense ruby to the rim and fuller-bodied than the Ventana Vineyard, it offers up beautiful layers of sweet kirsch, raspberry, and licorice, terrific fruit, a long, concentrated, opulent attack and mid-palate, and a velvety-textured finish.
