Style: Witbier (3.9% ABV)

Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Pours a hazy pale gold color with a small off-white head that leaves a fair amount of lace. Aromas of orange peel, coriander, toasted malt, and a faint cereal sweetness. Slightly tart taste with sweet citrus, toasted malt, sweet caramel, and mild spices. Spicy and peppery/dry with a sweet smoothness for great balance. Very enjoyable and quite sessionable.

Pairs with: Cheese (peppery; Monterey / Pepper Jack, tangy; Brick, Edam, Feta) General (Salad) Meat (Poultry, Fish, Shellfish)

Serve in: Pint Glass (or Becker, Nonic, Tumbler), Pilsener Glass (or Pokal), Mug (or Seidel, Stein)
