About This Wine:

Cedrus is produced in Southwestern France in the commune of Vire-sur-Lot, a village with a long winemaking history. The estate was founded in 1956 by Charles Verhaeghe and is now run by his two sons Pascal and Jean-Marc who contribute actively to improve the quality of Cahors.

What Does It Taste Like?

Made from 90% Malbec, 10% Merlot. The average age of the vines is 25-30 years. Vinification: destemming, crushing, fermentation at 28 degrees, vatting for 3 weeks, ML in tanks. Aged for 18 months in 30% oak barrels (1 year old barrels), 70% stainless steel tanks. Slight filtration. Storage in temperature controlled cellars. Deep color. Intense black cherry and blackberry fruits, plum, liquorice. Powerful, rich and concentrated Full bodied, well textured. Excellent match to roasted meats, game and strong cheeses.
