The brute force of gargantually ripe and fruit forward Happy Canyon Syrah is masterfully tamed and beat into submission by calming force that is Viognier. This classic method is still used in the northern Rhone Valley to transform Syrah into a slightly elevated, yet eloquantly flamboyant and classy version of itself. Back when Godzilla was hanging out in Monte Carlo in his vintage Armani suit, he reminded you of this wine. You have to give it to him. The guy had class.
I remember him, Sinatra and the boys tearing through town and leaving nothing but pristine reputations and bashful smiles in their wake. They were respectful, but not scared. They were legends, but not pretentious. Sixer is a sleeper of a wine. Get to know him before he is gone.

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This wine is dry and crisp and enormously complex. It flatters the palate with waves of blackberries, cherries, currants, tangerines, bacon, white pepper and sweet vanilla oak, and the all-important tannin structure is fine. It’s 94% Syrah, while 6% Viognier brings the perfect bite of acidity and citrus." — S.H. (12/31/2010)
