About This Wine:
Pre-fermenting maceration at 15ºC for five days. Fermentation between 28º to 30ºC to get more color and structure. Four light pump-over are done daily. Post fermenting maceration for about two weeks. Then the juice was separated from the skins, which were pressed to extract more juice. 100% malolactic fermentation.
Aged 25% in American oak barrels for 3 months.


What Does It Taste Like?

Fine deep color, with good density. A brooding, quite intense nose: earthy, with prunes and a pronounced touch of violets. The entry is quite firm and clear cut, with fine acidity and good fruit that adds suppleness. Excellent balance. A very good wine with lots of character.

"Deep ruby. Cherry, blackcurrant and dark cherry on the nose. Juicy dark fruit flavors turn slightly bitter in the middle palate and are framed by dusty tannins. Finishes with tightly focused bitter cherry and pepper qualities and decent length. This gets better with a bit of aeration." - Josh Raynolds (Mar/Apr 10)
