A dry VDQS red wine from the Slopes of Mt. Meliton.

The favourite wine of Aristotle, this ruby red, smooth, rounded and full-flavoured wine revives centuries old traditions on the slopes of Sithonia. Get to know its pleasant character, which at 15oC is the ideal accompaniment to all white meats and traditional Greek dishes prepared with olive oil.

"The 2007 LIMNIO, an ancient Greek grape, is softly textured with ripe tannins around the edges. It is elegant and distinctive, bright and earthy, too, with touches of leather, roast beef and bitter chocolate on the nose. It is another Greek grape with which people will be unfamiliar, but those that like it may have a lot of fun with this. It grew on me and may win some fans amongst Northern Rhone admirers. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Although this will hold, I suspect it will always be better in the shorter term. Drink now-2015." - Mark Squires (8/2009)
