About This Wine:

Ecker family emphasizes fruity, white wines and typical regional dense, smooth red wines of the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Veltliner Frühroter, Rivaner, Riesling, Muscat, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent.

• Vineyard area: 20 hectares 
• Annual production: 6,250 cases 
• Top sites: Schlossberg, Mordthal, 
Steinberg, Berg Wagram 
• Soil types: mainly Loess, partly with gravel, primary rock in Steinberg vineyard 

What Does It Taste Like?

Again, the winemaker presented it after the “better” wines, and again it showed triumphantly, more succinctly berry-like, and there’s a small bit of tannin to contend with, but its bracingly fruity-tangy stuff, and gurgly like fresh reds once were. I liked the exceptional clarity, the incisive detail, their high-definition obsessive nuance, their fresh vitality, and most of all I loved the charm and deliciousness.
