Notes from the Winemaker:

Deep cherry red color with violet tones. Intense nose with black and blueberries aromas, tobacco, spices, black truffle, graphite and menthol notes. Fruity and generous in mouth, with great volume, round tannins and a clean and long-lasting finish. A wine with great character and identity.

Ratings & Reviews

93 Points & "Editor's Choice" - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"All signs point in one direction: the top of the heap. This is one great Chilean red blend! With Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in the mix, Gê sets a new benchmark for multigrape blends from Chile. This wine is loaded with berry, cassis and black plum flavors, but it’s textured, balanced and alluring. There’s a bit of creaminess on the finish to offset any tannic bite that’s still holding on, but as a whole it’s delicious, generous and ready to go. Best now through 2011."  — M.S.  (5/1/2009)

93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:

"Impressively rich, with loads of blueberry compote, braised fig, graphite and roasted earth notes waiting to emerge fully from behind the wall of dark, spice-laden toast. There's great buried acidity and a long, grip-filled finish. Loaded with character, this is built for the cellar. Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2010 through 2013. 300 cases made." –JM (Feb 28, 2009)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2006 GE is 30% Syrah, 30% Carmenere, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 16% Merlot. It, too, was produced from biodynamically farmed grapes from the winery’s Los Robles estate. Purple-colored, it has an alluring nose of pain grille, scorched earth, spice box, black currant, blackberry, and blueberry. This leads to a medium to full-bodied wine with layers of savory flavor, succulent fruit, and enough structure to evolve for 3-4 years. With excellent concentration, depth, and balance, it should drink well from 2012 to 2020." - Jay Miller (Oct 2008)

91 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Deep ruby. Seductively perfumed aromas of dark cherry, blackcurrant, licorice and mocha. Fleshy dark berry flavors are framed by velvety tannins and pick up zestier red fruit character with air. The tannins build on the finish, which is impressively sweet and persistent. I'd stash this infant away for at least another five years. This Demeter-certified wine was made from biodynamically grown grapes, with the consultation of Alvaro Espinoza, owner of Antiyal." - Josh Raynolds (Mar/Apr '09)
