This combo includes TWO (2) bottles of each of the following wines:

Hayman & Hill Reserve Pinot Noir 2008 (Santa Lucia Highlands, California)

Lifted strawberry and sweet ripe raspberry characters attack you on the nose and palate. Subtle dusty overtones with a sweet smokiness help to make this a powerful yet elegant Pinot with plenty of class. Perfect with just about any game birds or lighter meats such as veal. Try some seared duck breast with exotic mushrooms. Absolutely delicious.

Yamhill Falls Pinot Noir 2009 (Yamhill-Carlton District, Willamette Valley, Oregon)

Rich color, Distinctive Pinot Noir with fruit aromas of Raspberry, blackberry and spicy black cherry. This combined with high mineral soil content creates complex textures that are mouth watering. Great flavor with good acidity.

This deluxe cuvee is limited to 400 cases and comes from the Clawson Creek Vineyard.

Made by Ken Wright.

Sonnet Muns Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007 (Santa Cruz Mountains, California)

The Muns vineyard is located 2600 feet above sea level on Loma Prieta. It sits mostly above the fog line and derives its cooling influences from its elevation, proximity to the Monterey Bay and cooling afternoon winds. The 2007 Muns Vineyard Pinot has concentrated black cherry and berry fruit with subtle hints of oak aromatics. The wine is dense without being too heavy or cloying, and shows a surprising elegance on the palate for such a big wine. Although this wine is drinking well now, it would prove more rewarding for the more patient of us, with further aging.  The Santa Cruz Mountains is probably my favorite appellation for Pinot Noir as it more often than not enhances the minerality of the wine, which in my book is classic Pinot Noir. -Tony Craig – Winemaker (4/05/08)

Villa Maria Estate "Private Bin" Pinot Noir 2006 (Marlborough, New Zealand)

This wine has a perfumed bouquet of ripe cherries and raspberry fruits - hallmarks of Marlborough Pinot Noir. On the palate the wine displays ripe fruit with complex savory and spice elements. Soft, silky, fine-grained tannins provide structure and definition, yet also allow for the wine to be consumed young.

Domaine de Sarret Pinot Noir 2007 (Vin de Pays d'Oc, Languedoc-Roussillon, France)

This Pinot Noir is the perfect mix between the plush California-style Pinots, & the beautiful, elegant & polished Pinots from France. Perfumed w/ bing cherries & red fruit aromas, this medium-bodied wine has bright flavors of strawberries & cherries upfront. The mid-palate is intriguingly earthy with wild mushroom profiles and herbal nuances. This pleasant experience finishes silky smooth.

Kennedy Point Pinot Noir 2007 (Waiheke Island, New Zealand)

Artisan Wine Depot's Tasting Notes: The Kennedy Point pinot is full of surprises! For starters, it is surprisingly quite full-bodied for a Pinot, with a dark opaque blackberry jam-color. The nose will immediately differentiate this wine from other typical Pinot Noirs, with the glass exuding aromas of smokey, savory, meaty notes (think bacon). When it first hits the palate, the silky smoothness that is the usual Pinot calling card is definitely present. Hints of chocolate bring up a subtle sweetness, with a mild dark berry juice flavor to follow. The finish ends with an almost hidden heat and spice, which completes the melding of the flavors. This is a Pinot that definitely stands out among the rest, and highly recommended!
