Notes from the Winemaker:
2009 marks another great vintage for Central Coast Pinot Noir under À Côté. An homage to the delicious Bourgogne Rouge I so often drink, the wine is harmonized to display the regional characteristics of the diverse but focused, cool climate, Central Coast AVA of California.
The larger component, Cedar Lane Vineyard from the Arroyo Seco in Monterey (72%), contributes spice, and red fruit elements. The old vines of the Sierra Madre Vineyard (9%) fill out the mid-palate, and adds nuance and complexity. French Camp in Paso Robles (19%) adds weight and a chewy texture to this balanced Pinot Noir.
Ratings & Reviews
Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2008 vintage):"Shows lots of Central Coast class, with brisk acidity and pure, fruity flavors of raspberries, cherries, orange zest and cola. The mouthfeel is silky, the acidity crisp, the finish dry. Very nice for drinking now, and a good price for a Pinot Noir of this quality." — S.H. (8/1/2010)
