About This Wine:
Luzano is produced exclusively from Verdicchio dei Castelli di
Jesi grapes and takes its name from the castle built in the XI century
in the vicinity of the modern vineyards of the Marotti Campi Farm.
The Marotti Campi Farm is located in the vicinity of Morro d’Alba where the soil is very fertile and has been historically dedicated to wine-growing. The Marotti Campi family has owned land here for more than a century, their 52 hectares now primarily used for production of wine.
APPELLATION: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi D.O.C.
VARIETALS: 100 % Verdicchio
VINEYARD: Mixed soil, tendency towards clay
HARVEST: Grapes are hand-picked and packed in small wooden boxes in the first half of October.
VINIFICATION: Grapes are pressed without the skins for a long period on the lees.
AGING: In temperature controlled vats.
What Does It Taste Like?
Luzano is the fruit of a rare and valuable combination of tradition and
modern technology which maximizes its attractiveness. It is
characterized by a bright, straw yellow color with green reflections
and by a bouquet with aromas of acacia and wild flowers. It is dry,
full-bodied, full-flavored and fresh with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
This wine should be served chilled and is best accompanied by
appetizers, pasta and rice dishes, fish, white meats. It can also be
served as an aperitif.
