About This Wine:

We produced this Vosne-Romanée from Pinot Noir vines with an average age of 50 years, harvested from sites around the historic village of Vosne-Romanée. The growing season and harvest in 2006 were fine for Pinot Noir with lovely ripeness of fruit, purity and structure. Bottled after 16 months in barrel, this is a wine of real complexity, structure and length which we really hope that you will enjoy.

Producer note: Mischief and Mayhem is a collaboration of two partners, Michael Twelftree of Australia and Michael Rigg of England. They contract for the purchase of select lots of wine in generally very small quantities from different domaines that are identified and discussed on the on counter-labels.

Ratings & Reviews

Wine Spectator Magazine (2003 vintage)
The nose has some animal aromas, but there's fruit on the palate, boasting cherry, currant and woodsy flavors. It's on the rustic side, but if you're a fan of the feral style, there's plenty of personality here. Drink now through 2010. 300 cases made. –BS

Allen Meadows' Burghound (2003 vintage)
This is an interesting red in that it's decidedly not very '03 in character and could even pass for a 2002 as the expressive and moderately spicy nose is ripe but by no means surmature with stylish but barely medium weight flavors underpinned by soft and round tannins that suggest this will come around fairly quickly. In sum, this is a good but not distinguished Vosne villages.
