Opening with notes of brambly berries and sweet vanilla, the 2007 Cuvée Eddy settles into a deep groove with silky layers of blackberry and boysenberry, all finishing with a blast of soft, sexy spice. Enjoy this wine with good music and casual comfort foods,such as barbecue, burgers and pizza.

The Story

Selecting fruit from three standout vineyards in Paso Robles—Brave Oak, Dino Boneso  and Wittstrom—Winemaker Matt Ortman flirted with making a traditional Rhône blend, but couldn’t resist packing anextra punch with a little Petite Sirah.  Together, these varietal elements harmoniously merge like notes in a song.  The Syrah brings a bass note of black fruit to the wine, while the Grenache and Mourvèdre contribute an earthy tenor. Lastly, the Petite Sirah adds a rebellious touch of spice.  The result is a lot of smooth jazz with a little bit of rock and roll.
