The Story

Once upon a time, Matt and Lisa Ortman honeymooned in Tuscany, where Matt made wine at the famed Castello di Gabbiano winery. There, they gained a lasting appreciation for Italian wine, food and festivity. Upon returning, they set out to make a Tuscan-style wine of their own, one that would showcase the best of the Old and New worlds through authentic varietal character and bright fruit flavors. After considerable searching for the ideal site, they chose Bob Goodwin’s Algunas Dias Vineyard in the upper foothills of Paso Robles. Crowned with olive trees at an altitude comparable to Chianti Classico, this vineyard is a perfect place to grow a taste of Italy.
