Notes From The Winemaker:
This wine is truly an expression of the vineyard site. Situated above the fog line, the full sun exposure of this vineyard offers a wine with a heady nose of dried apricot and orange blossom, spiced pear juice and crème brulee. These 38 year old, dry farmed vines create an amazing concentration, giving a rich and viscous mouthfeel that stains the palate.
Production: 275 Cases

Bottled: Unfined & Unfiltered
Ratings & Reviews:
93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine"A fragrant, delicate style that slowly builds richness, depth and complexity. Full-bodied, elegant and refined, intense yet polished, with vivid pear, peach and nectarine that are long and lingering, ending with pretty honeysuckle notes. Drink now through 2015. 400 cases made." –JL (6/30/2010)
95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (v. 2007):
Explosive
aromas of pineapple, creme brulee, poached pear, and honeysuckle jump
from the glass of the 2007 Chardonnay Charles Heintz Vineyard. Its light
straw/green color is followed by under ripe apricot and pineapple
aromas and flavors, good acidity, lots of body, and loads of fruit. This
gorgeous Chardonnay can be enjoyed over the next several years.
93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine (v. 2007):
Ripe, with opulent, creamy pear, fig, spice and honeydew melon flavors that gain complexity and body. The finish is long and complex.
