A Steal of a Deal |

I've tasted all three Havens Merlots (the Reserve, the 2005 and the 2006) carried by Artisan Wine Depot and the 2005 is my favorite, by far. It's made in an old world style and has a distinct earthy character on the nose. For the price tag, this wine is a steal.

A quality wine at an unbelievable price, this is a huge opportunity to stock up and upgrade your everyday selections. The 05 is showing very well and edged out the others in my tasting of the Havens 05, 06, and 06 reserve merlots. Drink now, drink later, this merlot has the structure to age for a few more years. I've bought all I can shove into the cellar, but don't wait or I might find some more room.

It drinks like a $30 bottle... so it is perfect for everyday...It has a great nose the first day, and the 2nd day. I have seen some Merlots age well, and this has the complexity and balance to be fun to drink now, and age as well. I got 4 cases for myself. May get more. It is a cellar filler!

Havens 2005 Merlot is the deal of the year. It's a must have wine before it runs out. First, where can you find a 90+ point Merlot for under $7. The wine is tempting,succulent,juicy and satisfying that keeps you coming back for more. Even the novice wine connoisseur can buy a case and not feel the crunch on their wallet. If you have not tried it, take the risk, buy a case and you will be glad you did. It's a must have while it lasts.
