"The 2007 Barbaresco Riserva Asili is a huge wine. In some ways it reminds me of the 2004 because of its silkiness, but the 2007 is a richer wine with more weight, glycerin and body. Sweet cherries, flowers, hard candy and spices are woven together beautifully through to the plush, enveloping finish. Despite the power and richness there is plenty of Asili character in the glass. "Good deep, full red.  Mellow currant and underbrush aromas lifted by floral perfume.  Plush, round and utterly seamless but vibrant as well, with perfumed red berry and cherry flavors carrying through to the firm, mounting back end.  Finishes with dusty tannins and noteworthy lift.  A very successful Asili." - Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Oct '11)

"The 2005 Barbaresco Riserva Asili is sweet, sensual and perfumed. Today the wine remains extremely reticent, but the tannins show extraordinary purity and silkiness, suggesting the only thing missing is time. "Good full, medium red. Sexy, vibrant aromas of strawberry, flowers, truffle and minerals. Silky-sweet on entry, then energetic and strong in the middle, boasting lovely stuffing and superb definition. This rather powerful vintage of Asili really projects its fruit on the strong finish, which features serious tannic grip.
