97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2008 Finca Altamira is a bit broader and richer on the palate. It is an opulent wine that combines elegance with power. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and drink it from 2014 to 2028. Achaval Ferrer is now firmly established as one of Argentina’s benchmark producers." - Jay Miller (12/2010)

"The 2008 Finca Bella Vista has it all. Purple/black in color, it displays an exotic, sexy nose, dense layered fruit, and 5-7 years of aging potential. Satin-textured, mouth-coating, and very long in the finish, it will offer a drinking window extending from 2015 to 2028. Achaval Ferrer is now firmly established as one of Argentina’s benchmark producers." - Jay Miller (12/2010)

"A delightful wine, one of Justin’s best in quite some time. The blend is Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, and fruit is the star, in the form of ripe, lush blackberries and currants. You’ll also find complex notes of grilled meats, chocolate, herbs and spices, wrapped into a perfectly soft, delectable texture. Drink now–2015." — S.H. (4/1/2012)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2008 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio Abate is another impeccable wine from La Poderina, only this expressions is a lot more expansive and saturated in terms of its density and concentration. A dark, supple texture is layered with ripe fruit, licorice, balsam herb and soft spice. This austere 2008 vintage shows good structure and extra bright acidity that will serve the wine well as it ages over the years. Drink: 2016-2026." - Monica Larner (Feb 2014)

Taste: Medium body, gentle entry with a silky finish. Cinnamon, citrus and mouth-watering acidity leave room for a wonderful pairing.

Bouquet: Tropical nuances of papaya and guava. Also look for hints of stone, wax, lemon peel and the spiciness of arugula

Vineyard:
Named after the color of the soil, Tierra Blanca, this vineyard rests under the blanket of Mother Nature’s cool climate right along the San Pablo Bay. Planted to only 2 acres and managed by our own vineyard management company, this vineyard gives Rolando exactly what he’s looking for to make one of his signature wines.

90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"This is a powerhouse of ripe fruits, strong tannins and dark acidity. It burst out of the glass with its bold, firm flavors and solid structure. It is already balanced, the fruit complementing the dense texture. But it will certainly develop more and age very well. Drink in 2016 and until 2022." — Roger Voss (12/31/2013)

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Vincenzo Abbruzzese’s 2009 Brunello di Montalcino is a dense and full-bodied rendition that delivers an enormously floral bouquet of crushed rose petal and dried potpourri with background tones of cinnamon stick, root beer and caramelized brown sugar. Past vintages of this wine have shown great power and structure in the mouth, but the 2009 vintage is veiled and nuanced instead. There’s a silky and tight quality to the tannin backed by a long, polished feel. The wine never feels bulky or dense. It will be interesting to see how it evolves, but if you don’t want to wait, it can also be consumed in the near-term. Drink: 2016-2024." - Monica Larner (Feb 2014)

91 Points - James Suckling:
"A wine with very polished tannins and ripe fruit of plums and chillies. Full body, a medium chewy texture and a medium finish. Better in 2015." - (December 20th, 2013)

90 Points - Vinous Media:
"Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and licorice notes are laced together in the 2011 Syrah Borgo. This is an especially supple, sexy Syrah with tons of near-term appeal. The 2011 isn't especially complex or varietal, but it sure is delicious. Best of all, the Borgo is a fabulous value." - Antonio Galloni (May 2014)

95+ Points - Antonio Galloni of Vinous Media:
"The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia is cool, inward and reserved at this stage. Much less expressive than it was from barrel, today the 2010 appears to be in a closed phase. There is so much tension in the glass, though, and I can hardly wait to see where the 2010 goes over the coming years. A burst of mineral and floral infused fruit lingers on the polished, nuanced finish. Today, the 2010 seems to bring together the finesse of 2004 with the structure and power of the 2010. A pretty magical combination, if you ask me." - Antonio Galloni (August 2013)
