92 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"From a mountainous vineyard known for its grit and brawn, this wine presents exactly that—a powerful, grippy experience of generous fruit and tannin that's nonetheless complex in a mix of leather, chocolate and coffee. The acidity provides a high-toned undercurrent that makes it enjoyable and ponderous." – VB (9/1/2016)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer:
"Gold-tinged straw. Aromas of apple, anise, minerals an almond jump from the glass. Bright, dense and juicy, offering an archetypal Verdicchio set of flavors (marzipan and orchard fruits) of sneaky concentration and creaminess. The finish is long and suave." - Ian D'Agata (June 2015)

88 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Le Difese is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Sangiovese that shows bright berry nuances and a tangy, energized personality. The bouquet is simple and straightforward with a low-key fruit profile that does not stray from the original intention of this wine—to create a home for the estate's Sangiovese and to offer a simple, food-friendly, entry-level red. This vintage saw extreme fruit selection in order to maintain quality. As a result, production of this wine is down to 120,000 bottles made from previous production numbers of 400,000 bottles." - Monica Larner (Jul 2016)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Their 2014 La Cana Albarino, which is from a north-facing vineyard, is aged in stainless steel, although small portions are often barrel-fermented, depending on the vintage. This is a beauty: crisp, exotic, with white peach, honeysuckle and assorted tropical fruits, as well as apricot notes. It is medium bodied, fresh, lively and spent eight months on its lees. Naked in its fruit expression, this wine should drink nicely for another 1-2 years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Nov 2015)

Retail Price: $63.00

3-PACK PRICE = $339.97 per bottle (add 3-5 quantity to your basket) 6-PACK PRICE = $329.97 per bottle (add 6-11 quantity to your basket)

95 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"The 2001 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva della Mattonara bursts from the glass with endless layers of silky fruit. White flowers, French oak, new leather and spices blossom as the wine opens up. A super-refined, insistent finish leaves a strong impression. The Riserva della Mattonara is 40% Corvina, 30% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta and 5% Croatina. The wine was fermented in cement vats and spent a whopping nine years in a combination of casks and smaller barrels. Today the French oak is a bit dominant. As good as the 2001 Riserva is, it can't quite match the 2006 Harlequin, the wine that remains the pinnacle of achievement at Zyme." - Antonio Galloni (February 2011)

"Enticing scents of rose, fragrant blue flower, perfumed berry and chopped herb take center stage. Combining structure and finesse, the palate doles out juicy wild cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, mint and star anise while firm, polished tannins provide the framework. Enjoy 2019–2029." — K.O. (5/1/2016)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A beautifully layered, expressive wine, Poggio Antico’s 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva caresses the palate with exceptional elegance, finesse and total class. Sage, rosemary, licorice and tobacco all flesh out as this radiant Brunello shows off its considerable personality. Hints of dried rose petals add intrigue on the finish. This is without question one of the very best 2007 Riservas readers will come across. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027." - Antonio Galloni (Jun 2013)
