Notes from the Winemaker:
This crisp and fresh Chardonnay opens with aromas of orange blossom, lemon oil and toasted brioche with sweet cream apple butter. “Medium” on the richness scale, KARIA charms with its balance of ripe fruit, understated barrel spice, mouth-filling texture and refreshing acidity. The palate is loaded with flavors of ripe stone fruit and apple blossom that lead to a persistent citrus and spice infused finish.
The name KARIA (kar’-ee-ah) is derived from a Greek word meaning graceful, and it is this very character that we seek most in this wine. With stylistic inspiration coming specifically from our ARCADIA VINEYARD Chardonnay, the wine is refreshing, light and graceful on the palate, with bright acidity supporting ripe fruit flavors and a butterfly kiss of oak.

Ratings & Reviews
90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:"There
are 25,000 cases of the 2009 Chardonnay Karia. Part of this cuvee is
put through malolactic and about one-third is aged in stainless steel
and two-thirds in wood. This light straw-colored Chardonnay is a Napa
Valley regional blend as opposed to an estate Chardonnay. It offers up
aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle and lemon oil in its
medium-bodied, crisp, fresh style. Enjoy it over the next 2-3 years." -

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine ('08 Vintage):"Combines subtlety and finesse, with smooth ripe pear, melon, ginger, spice and hazelnut flavors that are rich and full-bodied without being heavy. Ends with a long, graceful finish. Drink now through 2017. 19,658 cases made." –JL (2011)
Wine Enthusiast Magazine ('08 Vintage):"With just a hint of oak, this Chardonnay is all about fruit and acidity. It’s dry and crisp, with a firm, clean mouthfeel, and pleasant citrus, apple, pear and mineral flavors." — S.H. (2/1/2011)
