Notes from the Winemaker:

Winter 2007 was one of the mildest of the past few years with an average temperature of 10° C which accelerated the vinesí budbreak. During the summer season, temperatures got back to normal and the abundant rain showers helped prevent water stress in the most critical stage of the plantsí growth cycle. As often occurs in our area, the temperature range between day and night during ripening accentuated the grapesí mineral components and varietal aromas. Harvest started on August 27th in Florence with the Merlot, a week earlier than expected, and ended in early October in Panzano with the Petit Verdot.

"The 2007 Tenuta degli Dei is gorgeous in this vintage. Elements of softness and minerality create an attractive tension, while the fruit shows terrific focus. This is a relatively soft, mid-weight Tuscan 2007, but it is much improved over the 2006 version. It will be interesting to see what develops here over the coming years. Sweet scents of French oak linger on the floral, refined finish. Tenuta Degli Dei is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Alicante aged in French oak.
