About this Wine:

Inspired by the rich, luscious & mineral scented dry whites of the Rhône Valley, Torbreck Roussanne Marsanne is sourced entirely from our Descendant Vineyard on Roennfeldt Road.

Fragrant aromas of acacia flowers, roasted nuts and buttered citrus are neatly balanced with underlying hints of bees wax, minerals, and chalk.

The ripe, fleshy barrel fermented Marsanne gives the palate extraordinary richness whilst the Roussanne contributes it’s more flinty and austere personality. The result is a seamless wine with a silken texture that can be enjoyed with anything from the sea, particularly with a rich crustacean based sauce.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Bright gold. Sexy, highly perfumed bouquet of white peach, pear and nectarine, with suave floral and honey notes adding complexity. Juicy, focused and nervy on entry, picking up zesty acidity in the mid-palate and offering sweet orange and pit fruit flavors and good back-end grip. Plump but nervy blend with strong finishing thrust and lingering notes of gingerbread and honey. This would be great with rich poultry or seafood dishes. " - Josh Raynolds (Jul/Aug '10)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Blended of 55% Roussanne, 35% Marsanne and 10% Viognier, Torbreck’s 2009 Roussanne Marsanne Viognier offers a lovely peachy, floral nose with notes of frangipani, tropical fruit salad, guava and green mango plus a whiff of honey. Medium to full-bodied with a nice silky texture, good mid-palate and medium-high acid, the finish is long and yeasty. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2014." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Dec 2010)

90 Points - Anthony Dias Blue
:
"Aromatic and spicy with a soft acid and nice balance; creamy vanilla and lovely fruit."
–September 2010
