You are here: Home > Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines

This year, Wine Spectator editors reviewed more than 17,000 wines from around the world in blind tastings. Out of the more than 17,000 wines,  they had the difficult task of selecting only a mere 100 for their annual list. They select the wines based on four criteria: quality, value, availability, and what they call "excitement."

While many wines have sold out (although we're likely to have the next available vintage) and a few have not yet been released by the wineries, we  have some great assortment of currently available wines of the year. So build your cellar or give a high quality gift; taste and purchase these TOP 100 wines from Wine Spectator before they are gone. Quantities are limited.

Rank #95 - Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2009

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The NV Brut Premier is a gorgeous wine that stands head and shoulders above the vast majority of wines in its price range. Apparently, it is quite possible to make great Champagne that doesn't cost a small fortune. Ripe pears, smoke, spices, dried flowers and herbs are some of the many nuances that emerge from the glass. The Brut Premier shows lovely mid-palate depth and fabulous overall balance. Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon has done it again. This is a fabulous Brut Premier. The Brut Premier is based on the 2007 vintage, with approximately 20% 2006 wines and 10% older reserves going back to 1996. The blend is approximately 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier and 40% Chardonnay. About 50% of the base wines underwent malolactic fermentation. Dosage is 9-10 grams per liter. This is Lot # L034638B102206. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015." -Antonio Galloni, November 2011

"Bright, medium ruby-red.  Refined aromas of blackberry, black cherry, lead pencil and espresso.  Thick and impressively concentrated, but also shows lovely clarity to its dark berry and cherry flavors thanks to firm acidity.  Finishes sweet, lush and long, with ripe tannins and a lingering black pepper nuance." - Ian D'Agata (Sep 12)

The 2009 Vintage Was Rank #58 - Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2011

CASE PRICE = $17.99 per bottle
91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2010 Catena Malbec is also a blend of four vineyards in Lunlunta, Agrelo, Altamira and Gualtallary at different altitudes and includes some whole cluster fermentation (about 20% of the blend.) It has a pellucid bouquet with tangible minerality: notes of blackberry, strawberry cheesecake, a touch of cassis and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins on the entry. The acidity is crisp and lends tautness towards the succulent finish, which bestows blackberry, black olive and loganberry fruit. This is a finely crafted, feminine Malbec. Drink now-2018." –Neal Martin (Oct 2012)
