This Côtes du Rhône takes its name from the 45th North parallel which
runs two kilometres from our cellars. In the village of Pont de l’Isère,
a monument symbolises this line with an inscription: “The South begins
here”. Our wine has had this name since the beginning of the 1950s.

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2010 vintage): "Constituting
40% Syrah from relatively early-picked schistic sites in St.-Chinian
(selected specifically with pink wine in mind) as well as from
Minervois, and with 40% Cinsault, the Hecht & Bannier 2010 Languedoc
Rose delivers not just fresh, tart-edged cherry fruit, and
invigoratingly pungent herbal inflections, but also luscious blood
orange and an astonishing array of mineral nuances including utterly
mouthwatering salinity, all of which promises terrific versatility at
table over the coming year. This is about as vividly fresh-fruited,
exuberant, vibrant, and capital-"M" mineral as you could ask for in any
wine! I tried chasing some of Hecht & Bannier's new Maury with this
and it was utterly luscious, almost suggestive of sweetness in its vivid
evocation of red fruit ? after having a fortified dessert wine in one's
mouth! "It's dry, I promise," says Hecht." - David Schildknecht (Jun
2011)

93 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright
red. Black raspberry and floral aromas are complemented by Asian
spices, anise and white pepper. Racy, finely etched red berry and cherry
flavors stain the palate and become deeper and sweeter with air. Shows
no rough edges and finishes with superb focus and sweet, sappy
persistence. This puts most Chateauneufs in the shade." - Josh Raynolds

89-91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The
2009 Beaucastel Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet red is just a notch behind its
brilliant 2007 counterpart and could turn out to be just as good. It
boasts a deep ruby/purple hue in addition to abundant aromas of
framboise, black cherries, truffles, herbs, grilled steak and meat
blood. Spicy, peppery, rich and medium to full-bodied with silky
tannins, this beautiful, reasonably priced wine should drink well for
10-12+ years." - Robert Parker (Oct 2010)

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This is fleshy and smoky, with enticing mesquite, tobacco and iron
notes weaving through the large core of fig and blackberry fruit. The
long, smoldering finish has some serious grip in reserve. Grenache,
Syrah and Carignan. Drink now through 2013. 2,500 cases made." –JM

91-94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The color of the 2009 Seguret Grande Reserve (a blend of 65%
concrete-aged Grenache and 35% oak barrel-aged Syrah from 60-year-old
vines) is not dissimilar from the Syrah cuvee, a deep ruby/purple with
blue tints. It boasts a stunning bouquet of kirsch, blueberries,
blackberries, incense and spice box. Full-bodied and rich, this is a
fabulous example of what can be achieved in the outlying Cotes du
Rhone-Villages appellations. It ranks alongside the brilliant 2007s
produced by Domaine de Mourchon. It should drink well for at least a
decade." - Robert Parker (Oct 2010)

91 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "(a
blend of cabernet sauvignon, grenache and cinsault): Light, bright
peach skin color. Lively, mineral-accented aromas of orange zest,
strawberry and honeysuckle, along with a hint of herbs. Nervy and
refreshingly brisk on the palate, offering pure red berry and citrus
flavors underscored by a chalky quality. Finishes dry and clean, with
strong cut and lingering florality. I really like this wine's balance
and focus." - Josh Raynolds (Jun '11)

The Château Romassan 2010 rosé has a pale salmon-pink color
with a touch of rose petals. At first, the nose gives off hints of
woodland and white flowers which open out onto hints of fine, intense
red fruit. A rich, ample attack reveals a very fine structure. Aromas of
peach with touches of broom and thyme give way to a long, powerful
finish with hints of mild spice and aniseed.
