94 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2014 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is a powerful, intense wine with real phenolic intensity. This is an especially rich, deep and layered wine with exquisite finesse and pedigree. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2014 for at least a few years. This is a special Chardonnay in the making." - Antonio Galloni (Mar 2017)

Notes from the Winemaker:
Nose: Meyer lemon with hints of honeycomb and orange blossom. Oyster shell, wet stone with a kiss of struck flint.

Mouth: Rich with acidity and elegance. Textural with an everlasting finish.

The marine influence that follows the Russian River inland from the Pacific coast is a powerful attribute of this region. The fog helps keep nights cool and offers vines a break from daytime temperatures. The famous Chardonnay vineyards that we work with for this wine are from the coolest parts of the Russian River Valley. Here, fruit is allowed to mature gracefully on the vine, which we find offers us more intensely focused flavors and generous natural acidity.

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Very deep garnet-purple in color, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon, composed of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 4% Malbec, is scented of red currants, blackberries and wild blueberries with touches of olives and underbrush. Medium-bodied, tightly wound and packed with tense red and black fruits, it has a fine-grained texture and savory finish. 9,600 cases were produced." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (29th Dec 2017)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2016 Chardonnay Peugh Vineyard is rich, pliant and very nicely textured. These 70 year-old, head-trained vines confer unusual intensity. The apricot, dried pear, chamomile and dried flower notes give the Peugh a distinctly savory quality." - Antonio Galloni (Apr 2018)

93+ Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2016 Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch Vineyard opens with a serious burst of fruit. There is terrific depth and intensity, but today the oak is showing a bit more prominently than is typically the case with the Anthill Pinots. The 33% whole clusters are not at all evident. The Campbell Ranch has quite a bit of potential." - Antonio Galloni (Apr 2018)

"Dark cherry, plum, lavender and spice make a strong first impression in the 2015 Pinot Noir Peters Vineyard. Deceptively medium in body , the 2015 possesses exotic richness and plenty of intensity to match its juicy, layered feel." - Antonio Galloni (March 2017)

Notes from the Winemaker:
The wine offers depth and finesse without the heaviness of a typical high end California Cabernet. The aromas give up loads of perfume remindng us of blueberry, dark cherry and mixed dark fruits. The wine is soft and mouth filling with great structure, complexity and to complement the flavors of blackberry, cola and tobacco. The deep flavors are balanced with well endowed, but fine grained tannins. There is excellent balance and a persistent finish. It is very approachable and ready for either early consumption or long term cellaring.

The Vintage: The fourth year of continuous drought caught up with many vineyards, shrinking yields and causing water stress in many vines. Tiny clusters sometimes clocked in at 10% the weight of normal. However, the natural consequence of such a low yield is an amazing concentration of flavors.

The Wine: Beautiful and elegant. This wine packs a punch - notes of candied raspberry, rose petals and dark cherry jump out of the glass. While darker fruits dominate the nose, strong red fruit shines through the palate. Delicious red cherry and subtle, savory earth flavors shine throughout.

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
From a tiny site in the Chalone AVA, the 2014 Pinot Noir Naylor Ranch Vineyard started out slightly reductive, yet opened up with air to go darker, earthier characteristics of black cherries, scorched earth, currants and spice. Possessing beautiful purity, medium-bodied richness and good concentration, it's enjoyable today, yet should keep nicely through 2024." - Jeb Dunnuck (28th Sep 2016)

Note from the winery:
History runs deep at this 17-acre vineyard on Vine Hill Road in the heart of the Russian River Valley. Back in the 1960s, Sonoma County legend Duff Bevill planted the parcel to the old Clone 4 of Chardonnay. These grapes still grow today, though now the owners are Dennis and Mary Black, and the land is called Black Emerald Vineyard. Because this vineyard is dry-farmed, raising the canopy away from the heat of the ground during the day helps moderate the cluster temperature. At night, this strategy also helps keep clusters dry.

Todd’s Grandpa Ern proudly served during World War II. His job: Bombardier in the U.S. Air Force. With The Bombardier, we honor all who took on responsibilities and jobs during that time. We take inspiration from the many walks of life that followed.

Decadent aromas of sweet pears, melons and candied apples precede a balanced acidity akin to pineapple that freshens the notes of orange marmalade, ripe citrus and tree fruits on the palate. Sweet and sour tones are met in measure with a light caramel beeswax texture and bright notes of Meyer lemon and ripe apples on the finish.
