Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"Pale straw. Aromas of white stone fruits, white flowers and minerals. Then more Auxerrois-dominated on the palate, with hints of honey and sweet spices mingling with flavors of chamomile and white stone fruits. Finishes bright and persistent. This wine is 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc, but it used to be a 50/50 blend; with the 2007 vintage, the Auxerrois was increased to make a rounder and less fruity wine that would be more flexible at the table. Yearly production is roughly 80,000 bottles, and this is Schlumberger’s bestselling wine. “It’s very important for us," said Séverine Schlumberger. Everyone gets to know this wine, so it’s our calling card, and it always has to be more than just good.” I would add that one of the secrets to this wine’s quality is the fact that a portion of the Auxerrois vines used to make it are 30 years old and in the Kitterlé grand cru. “Perhaps not the most intelligent or economically feasible move we've ever made,” said Schlumberger with a smile, “but it’s certainly one of the reasons for this wine’s quality." - Ian D'Agata (Feb 2016)

90 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"Straw-yellow. Perfumed, classic Pinot Gris nose of pear, smoke, apricot and honey. Rich and round in the mouth, with juicy, lively flavors of orchard fruits and honey. The persistent finish is clean and long. A lovely entry-level Pinot Gris that showcases purity and precision. I could drink this by the bucket." - Ian D'Agata (Feb 2016)

96 Points Cellar Selection - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"A benchmark for Alsace Riesling, Cuvée Frédéric Emile is released only as it approaches maturity, and this 2009 is just getting there now. With kerosene aromas and tight, intensely zesty and mineral flavors, it shows the Trimbach approach—that Riesling needs to be bone dry. It's impressive now, but will be even better from 2016." - Roger Voss (12/31/2014)

94 Points - James Suckling:
"None of the hardcore Gewurztraminer aromas, nor a hint of the bitterness and heaviness of the grape. There's generous sweetness, but the freshness and light texture of the wine make it seem much drier than it really is. Savor this for itself now, but it also shows some aging potential. From the grand cru Goldert site and made from biodynamically grown grapes." (May 28, 2018)

Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Exhibits fine balance and mouthwatering acidity, with fresh flavors of juicy pear and apricot fruit, followed by hints of candied ginger and kumquat, smoke and spice. Drink now through 2020. 2,500 cases imported." – AN (Apr 30, 2014)

Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"A big, ripe and spicy wine, it also has plenty of fruit to balance plus a drier structure at its center. Just a hint of lychee plus a rounded texture make it full bodied but never heavy. Drink from the end of 2014." - Roger Voss (7/1/2014)

91 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Yellow-gold. Tangy, fine aromas of orange peel, licorice, honey, botanical herbs and flowers. Sweeter and silkier than the Cote de Rouffach (44 g/l residual sugar per liter, vs. 23), but nicely integrated acidity accentuates the impression of inner-mouth floral perfume. Less showy today on the nose but this is fatter, deeper, more tactile wine. The finish is long and bright, with a lightly tannic quality. This should evolve slowly. (Incidentally, most of Mure's 2009 Clos St. Landelin cuvees were still in tank in September.)" - Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Dec 2010)

This Crémant d’Alsace is a blend of Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Auxerrois. Grown in the clay and limestone soils around Rouffach and Westhalten, the vines average 20 years old. The fruit is hand picked only when fully ripe. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed then fermented in barrels. The wine is kept on the lees for 12 months, before bottling where the secondary fermentation takes place. Their Crémant Brut is kept a minimum of 18 months sur-lattes before disgorging, ensuring a sparkling with both weight and acidity. A very fine mousse persists in the glass with notes of vanilla and pure fruit flavors in the nose. Round and easy to drink, the René Muré Crémant finishes fresh with nice length.

Notes from the Winemaker:
Les Gryphees has aromas of peaches and white flowers, while in the mouth it is both deliate and polished; here is a classically elegant wine that opens with a smooth bouquet and finishes with a note of apricots.
