96 Points - James Suckling:
"This is a big step up in quality for Damilano, who now controls the most vineyards in the great Cannubi -- about 11 hectares. Sensual aromas of dried flowers, sweet fruits and chocolate follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a delicious finish. Very fine indeed. Chewy. Better in 2015." (July 19th, 2012)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (2010 vintage):
"Good full, deep red. Captivating aromas of dark raspberry, woodsmoke, mint, minerals, flowers, camphor, licorice and brown spices. Not particularly powerful or outsized but boasts excellent cut to its dark fruit, rose petal and spice flavors. The long finish features suave, dusty tannins and excellent energy. A smaller cuvee than normal, as so much of the fruit was strong enough to go into the Castiglione bottling in 2010, noted Currado." -Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Dec 13)

93 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Deep, bright saturated ruby. Brooding aromas of black fruits, bitter chocolate, licorice and violet, plus a whiff of black pepper. Broad, lush and dry, with an incredibly fine-grained texture and sound framing acidity to the intense, primary dark fruit flavors. Spreads out and echoes on the very long back end. For such a rich wine this is not a bit heavy; this makes the regular Scarrone seem dry on the finish--"the difference between 25- and 98-year-old vines," notes Currado, adding that the yield here was in the 18 to 22 hectoliters-per-hectare range. An extraordinary barbera." -Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Dec 13)

90 Points - Steven Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (2012 vintage):
"(fermented very cool and kept on its lees until June): Bright green-tinged yellow. Lively aromas of sour apple, peach, minerals, flowers, spices and chlorophyll. Dry and rich on the palate, with noteworthy old-viney fat that's leavened by a bracing lemony quality. Conveys a strong glyceral impression of dry extract and finishes with lovely length. A superb vintage for this bottling. Luca says 2012 is a brilliant vintage for white wines: "minerally, fresh and floral, with strong acidity." Luca's father Alfredo practically invented dry arneis in 1967 and was responsible for rescuing the variety from extinction; previously arneis had been vinified sweet. Another name for the variety is "white nebbiolo," noted Currado, suggesting that arneis could have been an early mutation of the red variety." -Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Dec 2013)

90 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"Einaudi's 2012 Dogliani (Dolcetto) is a drop-dead gorgeous beauty. What a superb wine this is. Dark red berries, licorice, smoke and new leather wrap around the palate in a fleshy, radiant wine full of appeal. The 2012 stands out for its density and power, both of which it achieves with no excess weight. I especially like the grip of the finish here." -Antonio Galloni (October 2013)

95 Points - Antonio Galloni’s Vinous Media:
"The 2009 Barolo Le Coste is even better than the San Giuseppe. Big, rich, and explosive, the 2009 flows across the palate with tons of depth and pure power. Pine, menthol, licorice, leather and smoke all add complexity on the huge, voluptuous finish. The 2009 is at once dense but also quite classic. There is so much to look forward to here." (Oct 2013)

92 Points - James Suckling:
"Beautiful aromas of white truffles, plums and berries. HInts of spices. Full to medium body with fine tannins and beautiful licorice, berry and fennel seed. Very pretty length. Drinkable now but better in 2015." -James Suckling (April 18th, 2014)

"The 2010 Anas-Cëtta comes across as a touch compact at this stage and in need of further time in bottle. It flows with attractive peaches, pears and flowers, with lovely minerality and fine overall balance." -Antonio Galloni (October 2011)

95+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2009 Vintage):
"Luca recently purchased more land in the Lazzarito cru. The 2009 Barolo Lazzarito delivers subdued notes of red rose and violet that build in intensity as the wine takes on more air in the glass. Black fruit, plum, cassis, leather, tar and licorice soon follow suit. This wine is an absolute, drop-dead stunner. Its tannic crispness makes it feel lively and buoyant in the mouth. The wine shows heft and importance that become firmly etched in the mouth. Each time I went back to the glass, the wine told a new story. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2035." -Monica Larner" (June 2013)

Just 15 miles away from Barolo, in the Roero region, Nebbiolo produces a lighter structure and ripe, smooth tannins that are not unlike those of Pinot Noir. This is not a “baby Barolo” or a second wine at all – it is a distinct interpretation of a completely different geographic winemaking zone. The wine shows delicious floral elements and red fruits, wrapped around a medium-weight structure with a long, delicious finish and modulated, ripe tannins.
