91+ - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"($50-$58; from 50-year-old vines purchased in 2003; aged in all new barriques Deep ruby color. Pungent aromas of blackberry and bitter chocolate. Sappy black fruit and integrated oak flavors sharply framed by penetrating acidity. This boasts lovely inner-mouth aromatic character and mineral energy from the limestone-rich soil. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins. The crop level was just 18 hectoliters per hectare, according to Rivetti. Drink this now with full-flavored meat or hold it for five years." - Stephen Tanzer (Nov/Dec '07)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2006 Barolo Gramolere is a classic feeling wine laced with dark plums, prunes, spices, leather and licorice. Like so many 2006 Baroli, the aromas tend towards the ethereal end of the spectrum. Crushed flowers, herbs and licorice linger on the finish. This is a very pretty Barolo from Manzone. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026." - Antonio Galloni (Feb '11)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
“The 2008 Barbera d’Asti Bricco dell’Uccellone is a gorgeous wine. Layers of graphite and minerals run through the dark fruit, contributing notable drive and energy to the finish. This is a pretty, restrained Bricco dell’Uccellone that relies less on the sheer power of previous vintages. Ideally the wine is best given a few years in bottle to come together. Today is highly promising. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023." - Antonio Galloni (Dec 2010)

97 Points - James Suckling:
"Subtle yet complex aromas of peaches, plums and roses turn to walnuts, hazelnuts, and spice. Full-bodied, with impressive intensity and structure. A beautiful line to the wine with ultra-fine tannins and a finish that lasts for minutes. Super focused. I like this better than the 2007. Best in 2016." (July 2012)

93+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2008 Barolo Ornato is pretty, precise and delineated. This is a more reserved style than has been typical of Ornato in previous years. The French oak seems less obvious than in the past, while the flavor profile is more classic. Layers of dark red berries, flowers, menthol, spicebox and rose petals wrap around the powerful close. Overall, 2008 is shaping up to be a very classic vintage for the Ornato. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028." - Antonio Galloni (Oct 2012)

Light ruby red color. The bouquet is musky and delicate with scents of
ripe red fruit (strawberry, blackberry) and roses. Sweet and smooth
flavors with lingering aromatic persistence. There is a good balance
between the sweetness and the freshness, which makes this wine very
pleasant.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Made from 100% Moscato d’Asti, and incredibly packaged with a fabulous label, the 2011 Rinaldi Moscato d’Asti “Bug Juice” is pure spring flowers, fresh pineapple, honeysuckle, peach and apricot, which all soar from the glass. With about 5% alcohol, it is a gloriously fresh Moscato fruit-bomb. Drink it over the next year. The good news is that there are about 5,000 cases of it imported to the United States, and importer Fran Kysela says that his favorite accompaniment to this wine is a big wedge of Gorgonzola cheese. Rinaldi made a 2011 “Bug Juice” Pink from 90% Moscato d’Asti and 10% Brachetto d’Acqui. This is an addictive, light pink-colored, frothy rose that is quite low in alcohol, with deliciously sweet strawberry and cherry notes intermixed with hints of peach and apricot. Just stunning, there is much less of it available (800 cases). I can imagine that if you’re sitting by the pool on a hot summer day, this wine would be the perfect accompaniment." - Robert Parker (Jun 2012)
