Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The 2008 Rivola is a blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon displaying aromas of spice box, incense, violets, and black cherry. Savory and sweetly-fruited on the palate, it is an excellent value meant for drinking over the next 4-5 years.

97+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2007 Termanthia is, like the 2007 Numanthia, a bit more accessible than its 2006 counterpart. That is to say that it should begin to become civilized with a mere 6-8 years of cellaring and should offer a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2037." - Robert Parker (4/2010)

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This bold red matches ripe blackberry and currant flavors with toast, dark chocolate and oak notes. The tannins are firm and well-integrated, and the smoky mineral note is alluring. Drink now through 2016. 7,000 cases made." –TM (Dec 31, 2010)

The Spanish wine guide Guia Proensa rated this wine 96 points for the 2001 vintage. The 2003 vintage was rated 96 points by Parker and 95 by Wine Spectator, the 2004 was rated 98 points by Robert Parker!

94+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2007 Numanthia is marginally more approachable but it, too, is a dense, layered, voluminous, structured wine. Given the requisite cellaring, it will eventually become both elegant and powerful.

Bodegas Numanthia-Termes was sold by the Eguren family to Moet-Hennessey prior to the 2006 vintage. What this might ultimately mean for quality or style of the wine remains to be seen but there is no questioning the performance of the 2006 and 2007 vintages." - Jay Miller (4/2010)

Bodegas Matarredonda Juan Rojo Toro [Tempranillo] 2004 (Toro, Spain)
Retail Price: $25.00
Artisan Wine Depot Price: $22.99
You save $2.01!

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 91 Points:
"The 2004 Juan Rojo was aged for 8 months in French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, the nose exhibits lots of spice, mineral, scorched earth, and blackberry. This leads to a full-bodied, structured wine with layers of fruit, intense flavors, and 4-6 years of aging potential. This well-made Toro will be at its best from 2014-2029.

Bodegas Matarredonda, with 60 acres of Tempranillo vines, was founded in 2000 by Alfonso Sanz Rojo. The Libranza bottling is made from pre-phylloxera 100- to 140-year-old vines while the Juan Rojo uses Tempranillo from 80+-year-old vines." -Jay Miller, Aug. '08
