93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (1980 vintage):
"This year is a perfect example of a vintage that was much better for the sweet wines of Barsac and Sauternes than it was for the red wines. Yquem produced its greatest wine since the twin titans of 1975 and 1976. Medium golden, with a big, opulent, honeyed, oaky, flowery, tropical fruit bouquet, this wine is rich and concentrated, has very good acidity, a lot of botrytis, and a stunning finish. It is a great success, and it continues to evolve at a snail's pace. Anticipated maturity: Now-2035. Last tasted, 12/90." - Robert Parker (Jan 1998)

97 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The favorite sweet wine of millionaires, Chateau d'Yquem has, not unexpectedly, turned in a brilliant effort with their newly released 1989. It is a large-scaled, massively rich, unctuously-textured wine that should evolve effortlessly for a half century or more. It does not reveal the compelling finesse and complexity of the 1988 or 1986, but it is a far heavier, richer wine than either of those vintages. It is reminiscent of the 1976, with additional fat and glycerin. The wine is extremely alcoholic and rich, with a huge nose of smoky, honey-covered coconuts and overripe pineapples and apricots. As with most young vintages of Yquem, the wine's structure is barely noticeable. These wines are so highly extracted and rich yet approachable young, it is difficult to believe they will last for 50 or more years. The 1989 is the richest Yquem made in the eighties, and it has an edge in complexity over the powerhouse 1983. It remains to be seen whether this wine will develop the extraordinary aromatic complexity possessed by the promising 1988 and 1986 Yquems." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Dec 1997)

95 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Pale gold. Knockout aromas of creme brulee, coconut, vanilla bean, honey and orange peel. Lush and seductively silky in the mouth; its creamy, seamless texture makes it seem deceptively accessible today but sound acid structure should keep it going for 20 years or more. Not hugely sweet or tropical but very complex and fine. Firm, hazelnutty finish offers great length, if not quite the grip of the '89." - Stephen Tanzer (Jul/Aug '98)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Coming from a vineyard planted in 1973 at an elevation of 1,450 feet, the aromas draw you into the glass, with intoxicating notes of cream, ginger, pumpkin spice and chamomile. The palate possesses a creamy texture but also a sense of weightlessness that provides a lot of appeal. The balance is exquisite." -SS (Mar 2018)

"Steely in stony minerality, this lovely offering was blended with 18% Sémillon and whole-cluster pressed for an ultimate mouthfeel of juicy fruit. High-toned lemon and pear offset the intense acidity, combining richness and ripeness with brightness." - Virginie Boone (12/31/2016)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2013 vintage):
"The 2013 Bourgogne Chardonnay has a tightly-wound bouquet, quite tensile for a generic white Burgundy, with attractive undergrowth aromas. The palate has a saline touch on the entry, crisp acidity, with a touch of white peach and citrus lemon on the finish.

Visiting Francois Carillon on a chilly, windy Monday evening, it was somewhat a relief to step inside his warm barrel cellar full of newborn 2014s. François told me that he cropped the 2013 vintage September 26 to October 4. I enthused about his roster of 2013s that I feel show more drive and ambition than when I tasted the 2012s from barrel a year ago. In particular, his Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru was spectacular, one of the best of several I have encountered from barrel. Given the reasonable prices for the wines, many of these come recommended." - Neal Martin (Dec 2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2016 Vintage):
"From the Magliano area of Coastal Tuscany, the Aia Vecchia 2016 Vermentino (with 5% Viognier) is a terrific wine and one of the expressions I most enjoyed drinking in this tasting of Italian whites under $25. The wine shows a bright level of crispness and tonic energy, with green notes of lime, honeydew melon and lemon mousse. It's a simple wine, for sure, but the Vermentino grape is really on a roll right now, so I highly suggest this wine if you haven't already tasted this crisp Italian varietal from sun-drenched Coastal Tuscany. You just can't beat this great value." - Monica Larner (31st Aug 2017)
