90 Points  - Wine & Spirits Magazine:
"A solid vintage of Footbolt, d'Arenberg's bread-and-butter McLaren Vale shiraz, this draws on a deep well of red fruit and ironstone tannins--think cherries, strawberries and crushed black pepper flash-roasted in an iron skillet. This starts off cedary and ends soft and warm, focused on fruit. A versatile red for most any roast or grilled meats."

94 Points & "Editor's Choice" - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Mainly Pinot Noir, with some Chardonnay for brightness and citrusy zest, this brilliantly clean wine has an incredibly fierce mousse. It seems to boil in the glass, and the followup mouthfeel is as creamy and refined as any California sparkler in memory. The Pinot asserts itself in delicate touches of raspberries and strawberries. Delicious and compelling now. Try with sushi." —S.H.  (12/1/2010)

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"A terrific blush bubbly, rich and sophisticated in the mouth. The mousse is very fine and silky, and the flavors are just tremendous. Raspberries, strawberries, brioche, sweet vanilla and toast end in a long, opulent swirl of spices. This Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend comes mostly from Napa and Sonoma counties." —S.H.  (12/1/2011)

Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Fogarty’s basic Pinot Noir is very good, although it’s not a wine for aging. With its soft dryness and rich tannins, it shows polished flavors of cherries, cola, herbs, cinnamon spice and subtle oak."  — S.H.  (6/1/2011)

89 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a huge, unoaked wine bursting with dark red fruit, sweet flower, spices, leather and licorice. The Cabernet Sauvignon saw no oak at all; the richness comes just from the intensity of the fruit. This is one of the very finest wines being made from Paso Robles fruit, and I say that after having tasted over 500 wines from Paso recently. Frankly, it puts most of what is being made in Paso in this price point to shame. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. I was blown away by the two wines I tasted from Foxglove, Bob and Jim Varner’s negociant label. The Varners clearly have the magic touch. These are among the finest values readers will find anywhere in the world." - Antonio Galloni (Aug 2011)

94 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Tight and unevolved, yet displaying many attractive traits, from the mix of smoky, toasty, cedary oak to the core of pure, ripe currant, black cherry and blackberry fruit. Firm and full-bodied, with fine structure and depth, ending with a roasted espresso bean aftertaste. Drink now through 2022."—J.L. (Aug 31, 2011)

Columbia Crest
Columbia Crest "H3 Horse Heaven Hills" Chardonnay 2008 (Washington) - [RP 89] [WS 89]
Retail Price: $15.00
Artisan Wine Depot Price: $11.99
You save $3.01!

89 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2008 Chardonnay Horse Heaven Hills is a bit more serious. Forty percent was barrel-fermented in new oak, 30% in seasoned barrels with the balance in stainless steel. Like the Grand Estates, it was aged for 6-9 months sur lie with weekly batonnage. It gives up aromas of buttered popcorn, pear, spiced apple, and mineral leading to a smooth-textured, ripe Chardonnay with very good volume and concentration. This well-balanced, lengthy effort should drink well for 2-3 years." - Jay Miller (Aug 2010)

91 Points & "Cellar Selection" - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"A fine bottle — full, fleshy, immediately throwing out dense aromatics with toast and roasted coffee and bitter chocolate components. A deep vein of black cherry and cassis keeps the core tight and focused, and a small splash of Syrah adds the scent of black pepper."  — P.G.  (5/1/2011)

89 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
($28; 50% marsanne and 25% each of roussanne and viognier) Light yellow. Intensely perfumed nose offers bright pear, tangerine, jasmine and mineral scents; lots going on here. Fleshy pit fruit and soft citrus flavors are underscored by vibrant minerality, with the finish showing a restrained sappiness. Impressively fresh and lively, but also filled in and curvy." - Josh Raynolds (Nov/Dec '07)

89 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A superb value, the 2004 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon Langhorne Crossing (61% Shiraz and 39% Cabernet) exhibits a dark plum hue as well as a big, sweet bouquet of jammy cherries, spicy background oak, and hints of licorice and herbs. Consume this deep, medium-bodied, surprisingly long red over the next 2-3 years." - Robert Parker (Dec 2006)
