This amazingly well endowed profoundly rich red wine must be smelled and tasted to be believed. The color is a rich, deep purple garnet and gives but a small hint as to what’s inside. The nose gives off soaring and wonderfully focused aromas of ripe stone fruit, vanilla, cherries, cedar cigar box, blackberries and cinnamon. 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petite Verdot. Only 350 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon were produced from our 20 year old hillside vineyard, located on a western rocky slope, just south of Stags Leap District. A location that is cool enough to preserve the fresh blackberry and cassis aromas, but warm enough to bring out the best of the Cabernet varietal--rich extract with smooth, velvety tannins. The 2005 vintage was a very cool, late season. The wine shows this in it's elegance, with a fresh, crisp and soft palate.
