Note from the producer:
“Early Bird starts as a classic milk stout,” says Mark Theisen, Lead Brewer, Coronado Brewing Company. “We originally brewed this for a beer and donut event, so we wanted to have fun by adding coffee as an ode to it being a breakfast beer.” Coronado approached its neighbors down the street, award-winning Bird Rock Coffee & Roasters. After several cuppings, the team decided on a robust French Roast, and the final beer uses more than one pound of coffee per barrel of beer. “You can really taste the coffee in Early Bird. It adds a lot of complexity and pairs really well with the chocolate and complex maltiness,” says Theisen. “

"When I copied the famous Even More Jesus, I had to ask myself as an artist, why am I doing this? I didn’t honestly know. It was just an instinct about beer as pure form… in a sense this stout is like a metaphor for freedom - the sum of all the beauty that surrounds me and my perfect contemporary existence." - Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø, Brewer and founder of Evil Twin Brewing

Like a fine port, Old Stock Ale is intended to be laid down. With an original gravity of over 1.100 and a generous hopping rate, Old Stock Ale is well-designed to round out and mellow with age. It's brewed with classic Maris Otter malt and Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops, all imported from England.
