Mica is produced by Bill and Alicia Deem's brilliant winemaking team at Buccella (Latin for "mouthful"). The consulting winemaker is Celia Welch, best known for her extraordinary work at Staglin, D. R. Stephens, and Scarecrow.

Buccella's excellent reputation should not be an unknown to the Napa Valley aficonado, with a consistent record of very high ratings from Wine Spectator, Stephen Tanzer and Robert Parker since its inaugural 2002 vintage. However, it is certainly a luxury Cab, costing up to $160 per bottle.

“Mica” is the result of sorting and declassifying barrels that do not make the final cut for the Buccella Cab. They are both made exactly the same way. All the components are whole berry fermented in t-bins, barrel aged 22 months in new French oak and then bottled unfiltered and unfined.

The wine exudes an "expensive" purity of intense black fruits, rich lush texture, and decadent mouthfeel, while still performing with a sense of lithe, grace, and refinement. Mica is also the ideal candidate for "blind" tastings with Cabernet collectors because it tastes like most of the $150 - $200 Cult Cabs out there.

"A fresh, clean red with currant, mint and spice character. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a clean, tangy finish. Drink or hold. But delicious already." - (May 15th, 2014)

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Impeccable elegance characterizes this vintage of the producer’s marquee Bordeaux-style blend, an expert finessing of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec, 2% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Juicy in exotic black fruit, it stands tall, with silky, towering shoulders of herb, cardamom and clove that will coalesce beautifully over time. Hold through 2026." - Virginie Boone (5/1/2015)

Tasting Notes: Our delightfully refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is a reflection of the outstanding 2014 vintage.
Think of the elegance of a tree-ripened white nectarine — floral and fruity aromas that are so exquisitely balanced with the flavors in the mouth, and the finish ties everything together with its bright and easy crispness. This wine is delicious year round, but we’re especially pleased to offer this vintage just in time to complement your spring and summertime cuisine.

Inspired by his travels in Portugal, David planted eleven ancient Portuguese varieties in the early 1990s that are flourishing in their Napa Valley home. In 1994, Heitz Cellars introduced Ink Grade Port --- an American classic from the inside out with amazingly smooth, rich flavors and a distinctive label glazed on the bottle.

Tasting Notes: Rich and full-bodied with a wonderfully balanced sweetness, Heitz Ink Grade Port has been a customer favorite since we introduced it in 1994.

The lush, fruitiness of this wine comes from a blend of eight classic Portuguese varieties. Our winemaker has combined several vintages to achieve an outstanding depth of dark berry flavors with smooth notes of honey.

You will not want to wait for dessert! Heitz Ink Grade Port is also terrific paired with your favorite cheese or by itself as an aperitif.

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Revealing the great blending skills of Beringer’s winemaking team, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve is a winner. Having purchased Private Reserves for many years, I can attest that they age incredibly well. The 1991, one of the great successes of that vintage, is still aging beautifully at nearly 25 years of age. The sensational 2012 (10,000 cases) boasts an opaque purple color along with abundant aromas of charcoal, burning embers, crme de cassis, chocolate, blackberries and licorice. The long, complex, compelling, full-bodied texture along with terrific purity and a savory, rich mouthfeel result in a classic, quintessential Napa Cabernet Sauvignon to drink now and over the next 20-25 years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2014)

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2012 vintage):
"Tar and rich black cherries form the nose of this wine sourced from a vineyard planted in 1997. Luscious red fruit begins the palate, supported in the midpalate and finish by black pepper and fennel seed. It makes for a very approachable but complex, spice-driven wine." - Matt Kettmann (10/1/2014)

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Another spectacular Dolce, which continues the brand’s string of successes and further emphasizes its standing as one of California’s greatest- white dessert wines. It lacks a touch of the concentration found in the 2006, but it dazzles nonetheless with intricate, sweet flavors of honey, butterscotch, golden-apricot nectar, orange marmalade, pineapple tart, vanilla and buttered toast. And all that is brightened by crisp acidity. Terrific to drink now, and it will hold in a proper cellar for a decade. The blend is 82% Sémillon and 18% Sauvignon Blanc." -S.H. (3/1/2013)

91 Points & Editor's Choice - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Easy to drink, with some sweetness to the pear, apricot, and orange flavors, like a drizzle of honey on fresh fruit. The mousse, which creates the mouthfeel, is refined and smooth, lacking sharp edges, which adds to the impression of finesse. Overall, a very fine sparkling wine, especially considering its non-vintage status." - SH (Feb 2012)

91 Points - The Wine News:
"Straw-yellow hue; persistent effervescence. Pretty scents of lightly toasted bread, jammy fruit and hints of charred oak. Foamy on the palate with peach juice and a tart backing of white grapefruit. Tangy close with suggestions of sweet vanilla and cleansing lemon accents."
