Robert Parker - 93 Points

Even better news is the Crossbarn 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa. There are 10,500+ cases of this wine, and while $50.00 is hardly a bargain, this is a brilliant wine from Hobbs. There is a little Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the blend, but it reflects this great vintage, revealing blueberry, blackberry and cassis as well as some licorice, incense, and forest floor. The wine has full-bodied opulence, a sumptuous mouthfeel, and is just a terrific, savory, expansive Cabernet Sauvignon that should drink well for 15 or more years. - Robert Parker (Mar, '16)

96 Points - James Suckling:
Aromas of black currants, violets, lavender, and stone follow through a full body, chewy tannins and toned muscular structure. This is a Mondavi reserve that harkens back to the great years of the 1970s. A tribute to the 50th anniversary of the winery. Try in 2022. - JS (May 3rd, 2016)
Jarvis Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 (Napa Valley, California) [96 WE]

6-PACK PRICE = $194.97 per bottle (add 6+ quantity to your basket)
CASE PRICE = $189.97 per bottle (add 12+ quantity to your basket)

96 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
This reserve tastes oakier and stronger than Jarvis's regular 2006 Cabernet. With near-perfect balance, this is awesome. Flavors of blackberries and black currants are complexed with minerals and herbs and indefinable things from the soil. It's hard in tannins and rich in spicy, smoky new oak. Hold until at least 2014, and it should continue to age well beyond that.

About the wine:
Cool breezes from the San Francisco Bay helped provide a long “hang time” for our 1,000 ft. high vineyards, allowing the grapes to mature to perfection. The full-bodied Estate Chardonnay spent nine months in new French oak barrels with sur-lie aging, yet remains crispy after light fining and filtration. A bright sunshine yellow and vibrant aromas of honeysuckle and tropical fruits welcome you. The aromas are followed by a refreshing Chardonnay that is striking by itself as an aperitif wine or to accompany food. Be confident in pairing this wine with your lighter dishes. This wine was ready to enjoy when released and should continue to drink beautifully for four to six years from the vintage date. The grapes for all Jarvis wines are grown in our own hillside vineyards which were originally planted in 1985. The vineyards are 1,000 feet above Napa Valley four miles east of the city of Napa. The cool mountain growing region affords moderate temperatures for optimum ripening of grapes.

93-95 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"Graphite, smoke, savory herbs, crushed rocks and inky fruit race across the palate in Cimarossa's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Riva di Ponente. Tense and pulsating in the glass, the 2013 is all about structure, acidity and tannin. As such, the Riva di Ponente will appeal most to readers who appreciate the structure of mountain Cabernets. The 2013 is every bit as impressive as it was last year." - Antonio Galloni (Oct 2015)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2013 Riva di Levante, which comes from an east-facing vineyard planted in deep red, loamy aiken soils, displays plenty of minerality, full body, an opaque purple color, sweet blackberry and cassis fruit as well as notes of licorice, forest floor and earth. Its tannins are supple but noticeable, and the wine is capable of at least two decades or more of aging potential." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2015)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Le Pich has a deep ruby/purple color to the rim, sweet cassis and blackberry fruit, licorice, incense and well-disguised oak. The wine is medium to full-bodied, pure, ripe and impressive. It should age nicely for 10-15 years and it's a real sleeper of the vintage." - Robert Parker (Oct 2015)

100 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"One of two perfect wines ended my mini-tasting of the offerings from Lokoya in 2013. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain from the Keyes Vineyard is an amazing wine. Thick purple in color with a stunning nose of lead pencil shavings, blackcurrants, mulberries and blackberries, the wine has a steely structure, yet enormous concentration, skyscraper-like mouth texture, and builds incrementally to a stunning finish of close to a minute. The purity, the richness, the overall equilibrium are unreal, but then this is Lokoya. Drink it over the next 30+ years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2015)

100 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A wine offering notes of grilled steak, steak tartare, beef blood, blueberries and blackberries galore is the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder. Everything here emerges from the Jackson-owned Veeder Peak Vineyard. Chris Carpenter agrees that this has to be one of the greatest vintages he’s ever had the pleasure to work with – and he has some serious experience under his belt. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine is utterly profound, and while the scoring system ends at 100, if I had to pick a single wine that may have been my favorite of all the tastings I did in Napa, this could have been my pick. Full-bodied, rich, with incredible integration of its component parts of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood, the wine is lavishly built, has compelling purity, richness and density, and a finish, again, that rivals that of the Howell Mountain, being close to one minute in length. This wine will be certainly approachable young, but last 30-40+ years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2015)

6-PACK PRICE = $359.97 per bottle (add 6+ quantity to your basket)
98-100 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is not in bottle, but it looks like another three-digit wine in the making. It tips the scales at a lofty 15.3% natural alcohol, but tasters will never feel any “heat” tasting it. This is a beauty, with crème de cassis notes intermixed with spring flowers, a touch of toasty oak, blackberries, blueberries and cassis, as well as licorice, vanillin and a full-bodied mouthfeel. At this stage, it is more voluptuous and opulent than the 2010, simply because that’s the hallmark style of the 2012. No doubt this is a 30- to 50-year wine if you want to cellar it properly and nibble on it over a long period of time, but it will be much more approachable in its youth than most Hillside Selects tend to be. This is, once again, a fabulous effort." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Dec 2014)
