92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2013 Proprietary Red Blend The Prisoner is a creative blend of 44% Zinfandel, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petite Sirah, as well as Syrah, Grenache and Charbono. This dense, full-bodied, opulent red reveals gutsy, rich, peppery, meaty, blackberry, blackcurrant and licorice notes. A savory, lusty, heady red, it begs for a grilled steak or a big, juicy hamburger. Drink it over the next 4-5 years." - Robert Parker (Oct 2014)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The outstanding 2012 Zinfandel Saldo comes from selected parcels in Northern California. A blend of 85% Zinfandel and the rest Petite Sirah and Syrah, this classic Zinfandel saw 20% new oak. The wine exhibits lots of peppery spice along with hints of espresso, clove and barrique. Meaty raspberry and black cherry notes as well as a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel are also found in this beauty. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years.

This brand was first created by Orin Swift, but is now run by winemaker Jen Beloz and David Phinney. The wines’ impressive labels reflect the innovative and creative nature of this wine company." - Robert Parker (Oct 2014)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"A blend of 30% Chardonnay, 20% Viognier, 20% Roussanne and the balance Grenache Blanc, Chenin Blanc and a few other grapes, the 2013 Proprietary White Blindfold is close in quality to the brilliant 2012 I reviewed last year. Reminiscent of some of Sine Qua Non’s white wines from California’s Central Coast, the 2013 is more zesty, and plays it closer to the vest, but it offers lovely notes of fresh pineapple, tangerine skins, orange marmalade, melon and honeysuckle. I wish more California wineries would consider using such innovative blends as this given the high quality that can result. This beauty should be enjoyed over the next several years." - Robert Parker (Oct 2014)

Soft and round with lots of peppery spice intermixed with hints of bay leaf and roasted herbs, this complex, luscious, elegant, flavorful, savory, bistro-styled dry red can be consumed casually over the next several years." - Robert Parker (Oct 2014)

Another golden year for this nearly 40-year old vineyard which continues to yield wines of complexity, weight and balance. Sweetly fragrant with lemon crème brulee, orange blossom, gardenia and tons of tangerine our 2013 Sonoma Chardonnay has plenty of heft and a youthful, exuberant character. Vibrant ripe citrus fruits are threaded with toasty oak spice and native acidity that elevates the palate and drives flavors to a lengthy, mouthwatering finish

The bountiful yields of 2013 had tons of character too, as seen in our superb Napa Valley Chardonnay. Creamy pear, lime and caramel apple fruit basks in brioche, clove and sweet mineral spices. Loads of tree-ripened fruit form a dense, silky core rooted in natural acidity that gives the wine balance and sound structure. Flecks of gun metal, flint and whetstone add complexity to the long leesy finish.

A beautifully round and fruit forward wine. The bold, black fruit for which Howell Mountain is famous is clear from the first whiff. A deep and complex mid palate has black cherry, licorice, kirsch and le ather mingling together. There are layers of mocha, sage, and black berries on the lingering finish. The tannins are nicely balanced with the acid and oak accents making this a harmonious wine. Drinkable now with plenty of aging potential as well
