93 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Lovely berry, spice and leather aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate, with firm and silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. A harmonious wine. Not quite what it was from barrel, but outstanding all the same. Racy Calon. Best after 2010." –JS (Mar 31, 2003)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Good medium ruby. Blackberry and licorice on the nose. Sweet, dense and concentrated, with brooding flavors of crushed dark berries, black cherry, shoe polish and dark chocolate nicely framed by healthy acids. A bit energetically extracted yet nicely aromatic in the mouth. Has the stuffing to buffer its dusty tannins." - Stephen Tanzer (May/Jun '04)

2007 Cain Concept—The Benchland is Cabernet Sauvignon from the classical “benchlands” of the Napa Valley. Cabernet grown on the eastern and western benches of Oakville, Rutherford, and St. Helena has defined the greatness of the Napa Valley for more than 100 years. In the Cain way, we blend using Cabernet Franc and Merlot to add nuance, structure, and length to the finish. 2007 will be recognized as the best year of the decade for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Moderate yields, uniform ripening, a warm May, followed by a moderate summer and a warm September brought everything together. If there is a tiny quibble with this vintage it would be about ripeness, which was so easy to attain that it might be possible to overshoot. Fault this wine, perhaps, for too much generosity.
DeLille Cellars

Artisan Wine Depot Price: $79.99

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The dark-colored 1998 Harrison Hill Vineyard was produced from vines planted in 1962. Black cherries, blackberries, and spices can be discerned in its aromatic profile. This plump, seamless, refined, light to medium-bodied, pure 1998 is filled with red and black fruit flavors. There are no hard edges. It is not a powerful wine, but one that delivers oodles of pleasure through its symmetry and detail. Drink it over the next decade." - Pierre Rovani (Oct 2001)

Artisan Wine Depot Price: $79.99

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"What is Harrison Hill, and why does it cost so much? One of the oldest (planted in ’62) vineyards in Washington, it includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot vines, all of which are used in this blend. Along with the cassis, black cherry and sweet chocolate/bitter coffee flavors one might expect from a high-end Washington red, there is an indefinable taste of terroir-flower, stone, earth, stable - that elevates the wine to the next level." —P.G.  (6/1/2000)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The dark berry and herb-scented 1999 Harrison Hill is an elegant, juicy, spicy wine. Medium-bodied, it reveals gorgeous depth to its satin-textured, cherry, cassis, and spice-flavored character. Fresh herbs can be discerned in this wine's silky, expressive finish. It should be drunk over the next 10 years." - Pierre Rovani (Dec 2002)

Avignonesi
Avignonesi "Desiderio" Merlot Cortona D.O.C. 2007 (Cortona, Tuscany, Italy) - [RP 90] [ST 90]
Retail Price: $58.00
Artisan Wine Depot Price: $46.99
You save $11.01!

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The estate’s 2007 Cortona Merlot Desiderio is a full throttle, opulent wine laced with jammy blueberries, mint, spices and French oak. Hints of port-like sweetness linger on the finish. The Desiderio is a decidedly extroverted wine, but everything works within the context of this style of winemaking. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. Avignonesi is one of the best-known names in Tuscany. Once again, the Vin Santos are the show stoppers. - Antonio Galloni (Oct 2010)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2009 Sangiovese Terre degli Osci is rich and full-bodied in its dark cherries, plums, cinnamon, cola and chocolate. This is a decidedly rich Sangiovese layered with generous oak, but within this style it is an attractive wine. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014." - Antonio Galloni (Aug 2010)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2007 Orma is warm and open on the nose, as hints of grilled herbs, espresso, blackberry jam, mocha and spices emerge from the glass. All of those notes resonate on the palate, where the rich, expansive fruit comes to life in a gorgeous display of Maremma. Round and caressing through to the finish, the 2007 Orma is an utterly convincing, beautifully articulated wine. Naturally at this stage it is rather bold and the oak remains present, but time will tame some of the wine’s more exuberant qualities. This is by far the finest vintage of Orma I have ever tasted. Orma is 40% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.Orma is the Maremma property of Antonio Moretti, best known for the wines he fashions at Sette Ponti." - Antonio Galloni (Oct 2010)
