We produced this Vosne-Romanée from Pinot Noir vines with an average age
of 50 years, harvested from sites around the historic village of
Vosne-Romanée. The growing season and harvest in 2006 were fine for
Pinot Noir with lovely ripeness of fruit, purity and structure. Bottled
after 16 months in barrel, this is a wine of real complexity, structure
and length which we really hope that you will enjoy.

93-96 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Good bright, full red. Knockout noble nose combines raspberry,
blackberry, blood orange, mocha, white pepper, coriander and smoky oak.
Wonderfully silky but youthfully imploded, with compelling verve and
sharp definition to the urgent fruit and floral flavors. A wine of
outstanding purity and cut, and very long and precise on the
aftertaste. Hervet referred to this wine as "the king of the cellar in
2010." - Stephen Tanzer (Jan/Feb '12)

90-93 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"An overtly spicy, ripe and rather floral nose as it speaks of both rose
petals and violets. There is fine richness to the supple, round and
generous medium weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of energy on
the balanced and entirely serious finish that delivers excellent
length." (Jan 10, 2012)

89-92 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"Noticeable reduction renders the nose difficult to evaluate. By
contrast there is excellent concentration to the powerful and
broad-shouldered medium weight plus flavors that are shaped by very firm
and ever-so-mildly rustic tannins on the intensely earthy finish. While
this will not win any awards for elegance as Porrets St. Georges is
almost always among the most tannic of the Nuits 1ers, it offers plenty
of character in a decidedly ageworthy package." (Jan 10, 2012)

91-93 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound: "This
is also quite spicy with ripe and well-layered aromas of red and blue
pinot fruit that is satisfyingly fresh. The rich, dense and enveloping
flavors possess excellent phenolic maturity as well as outstanding depth
and length on the mouth coating finish. Here the tannins are a bit more
prominent and will require a few more years of cellar time to resolve."

89-92 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"This is also quite deeply colored. An open nose offers up notes of ripe
cherry, raspberry, subtle spice and Nuits style earth hints that also
suffuse the delicious, forward and easy-to-like flavors that possess
reasonably good length but not quite the same depth as the best of these
Nuits 1ers. To be sure, this moderately firm and mildly rustic effort
is very good but it's not truly distinguished." (Jan 10, 2012)

Allen Meadows' Burghound: "This
is also quite aromatically pretty with notably more complex and even a
bit more elegant red and blue pinot fruit notes that give way to intense
and beautifully detailed flavors that are underpinned by a lovely sense
of tension on the lightly mineral-infused and dusty finish." (Jan 10, 2012)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (2008 vintage): (partly
done in stainless steel) Very dry aromas of citrus peel and petrol; a
bit riesling-like. Then surprisingly rich and pliant in the mouth, but
with classic dryness to the pineapple flavor. Turns more austere on the
back end. Like a denser version of a typical 2007. 87-89 points
