Arissa Jane (Adrian Fog) Pinot Noir 2007 (Sonoma Coast, California) - Stephen Tanzer [90 pts]
|
Retail Price: $35.00 Artisan Wine Depot Price: $24.99 You Save $10.01
|
|
|

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's
International Wine Cellar:
"Bright medium red. Sexy red and dark berry preserves on the nose, with a
suave potpourri quality adding complexity. Sweet, expansive aromas of
smoky black raspberry and candied rose are given spine by tangy
minerality and pack a potent punch-actually, this focused wine jabs more
than it punches. The brisk, persistent finish repeats the red fruit and
floral notes and shows very good clarity and spiciness. This is a new
project from the Adrian Fog team." -Josh Raynolds (May/June 2010)

93+ Points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate: "The
2006 Pinot Noir Mark Bradford Vineyard is the densest and richest of
these wines. The nose exhibits pain grille, mineral, black cherry, and
blueberry. This is followed by a layered, savory, spicy, dark-fruited
wine with exceptional depth and a pure finish. Give it 3-4 years of
additional bottle age and drink it from 2012 to 2024. Domaine Serene has turned out its most successful set of Pinot Noirs in

Allen Meadow's Burghound - 88-91 Points: "Here
the nose is much more reserved and discreet with shy but very pure and
airy red pinot fruit aromas that complement perfectly the precise,
detailed and sappy lilting flavors that possess dusty tannins and
excellent depth on the linear and mouth coating finish that also
displays a subtle core of minerality. An understated and impressively
pure offering. Drink: 2013+."

Lucia "Lucy" (Pisoni) Rose of Pinot Noir 2009 (Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County, California)
|
Retail Price: $18.00 Artisan Wine Depot Price: $14.99 You Save $3.01
|
|
|

One dollar of every bottle of Lucy sold is donated to breast cancer
research.
Lucy is the little sister to Lucia. The Rosé is made by allowing the grape juice to sit on the Pinot Noir skins for a couple days. After picking up enough color, the juice is drained from the grape skins into barrels, where it ferments. The short skin contact results in a wine that is lighter in color and lighter on the palate. A perfect picnic wine, Lucy’s essence of Pinot Noir and fresh acidity also allow for pairings with a variety of dishes throughout the seasons.

95 Points:
"Here is a brilliant combination of the deep character possible from
the site together with the balance and proportion that derive both from
the hand of Dan Lee and from the vintage. The result is a wine of
substance, brightness, richness and the kind of layering that is only
found in the most exceptional offerings. To be sure, the wine is full in
body as one would expect of its Santa Lucia Highlands provenance, yet
it is underlying fruit and impeccable balance that seize the day here
and make it into one that will happily age into a polished maturity over
some four to six years or more." (Feb. 2010)
