97+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"As I wrote last year, the 2009 Hermitage La Chapelle is easily the greatest, most profound La Chapelle since the 1990. Most of this cuvee comes from Le Meal and Les Bessards vineyards, with a touch of Les Roucoules fruit in the blend. It is an opaque purple-colored wine with enormous concentration in addition to an extraordinary bouquet of graphite, creme de cassis, blackberries, licorice, beef blood and a touch of smoked game. Boasting phenomenal intensity, a full-bodied mouthfeel and 50 years of longevity, the only thing that could possibly hold it back is that most consumers should plan on laying it away for 8-10 years." - Robert Parker (Dec 2011)

"This is a great, fresh, young style of wine, with figs and bitter marmalade flavors. There’s a touch of orange peel, a hint of vanilla and very ripe, delicious fruit." —R.V.  (8/1/2006)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2007 Malleolus de Valderramiro is a glass-coating opaque purple. It showcases a superb, sexy bouquet of sandalwood, graphite, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and blackberry that leaps from the glass. Opulent, already complex with more to come, and super-long in the finish, it offers a drinking window extending from 2016 to 2037." - Jay Miller (Jun 2010)

CASE PRICE = $59.99 per bottle (add 12+ quantity to your basket)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"There are no doubts about the 2007 Cheval des Andes, always a candidate for wine of the vintage. Composed of 60% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Merlot and Petit Verdot, it spent 18 months in new French oak. This leads to an enthralling nose of sandalwood, floral notes, exotic spices, a velvety texture, complex flavors, and an overall suave personality in the manner of a First Growth Bordeaux. It gracefully combines elegance and power in a wine that will continue to evolve for another 6-8 years. It will see its 20th birthday and likely many more in peak form." - Jay Miller (Dec 2011)

93-96 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Good bright, full red.  Knockout noble nose combines raspberry, blackberry, blood orange, mocha, white pepper, coriander and smoky oak.  Wonderfully silky but youthfully imploded, with compelling verve and sharp definition to the urgent fruit and floral flavors.  A wine of outstanding purity and cut, and very long and precise on the aftertaste.  Hervet referred to this wine as "the king of the cellar in 2010." - Stephen Tanzer (Jan/Feb '12)

89-92 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"Noticeable reduction renders the nose difficult to evaluate. By contrast there is excellent concentration to the powerful and broad-shouldered medium weight plus flavors that are shaped by very firm and ever-so-mildly rustic tannins on the intensely earthy finish. While this will not win any awards for elegance as Porrets St. Georges is almost always among the most tannic of the Nuits 1ers, it offers plenty of character in a decidedly ageworthy package." (Jan 10, 2012)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
This 2007 Syrah is a nice, smooth easy drinking wine showing infused characteristics of violet, black cherry fruit and subtle hints of black pepper. Soft tannins on the mid palate with a touch of spice through the finish make this Syrah a perfect match for lamb, beef or white cheese pasta.

"This is also quite spicy with ripe and well-layered aromas of red and blue pinot fruit that is satisfyingly fresh. The rich, dense and enveloping flavors possess excellent phenolic maturity as well as outstanding depth and length on the mouth coating finish. Here the tannins are a bit more prominent and will require a few more years of cellar time to resolve." (Jan 10, 2012)

92-95 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"Good full, bright red.  Subtle, high-pitched aromas of cherry, tobacco, leather and dried rose.  Sweet, creamy and deep, with some CO2 adding to the impression of freshness.  Wonderfully perfumed, very long wine, finishing with outstanding finesse of tannins, complex saline soil tones, and terrific energy and lift.  Pommard without a whisper of rusticity." - Stephen Tanzer (Jan/Feb '12)
