90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"The 2009 Dolcetto d’Alba Monte Aribaldo makes a great introduction to the wines of this venerable estate. Floral red berries inform this delicate, mid-weight Monte Aribaldo. There is a Burgundian sense of elegance and restraint to the 2009 I find particularly appealing. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013.

Marchesi di Gresy is best known for their Barbarescos, which are typically some of the best in the region. As good as those wines can be, the estate also releases a number of fine entry-level bottlings." Antonio Galloni (Aug 2010)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2006 Barolo Cicala is another serious, austere Barolo that is tightly wound at this stage. Here the fruit is darker and more intense than in the Colonnello, while the aromatics tend towards menthol, pine, spices and all things balsamic. Sweet, powerful and layered, the 2006 Cicala finishes with a blast of roasted coffee beans, licorice and mint. This is an absolutely wonderful, complete Barolo from Aldo Conterno. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031." - Antonio Galloni (Feb 2010)

"A rich, sumptuous Barolo, with bass tones providing a full range of plum, earth and spice to match its more elevated floral and mineral notes. Firm, but not stiff, with a fine lingering aftertaste of tobacco and spice. Best from 2013 through 2030. 400 cases imported." –BS (Mar 31, 2011)

"The 2006 Langhe Nebbiolo Il Favot is a very serious wine endowed with superb concentration and balance. This firm, vibrant Nebbiolo possesses gorgeous, refined tannins that render it enjoyable today, but readers who enjoy more aromatic nuance and complexity may want to cellar the wine for a few years. The sheer integrity of fruit here is remarkable. This is a great effort from Aldo Conterno. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016." - Antonio Galloni (Feb 2010)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (2007 vintage):
"Dark red. Nuanced, highly inviting nose combines redcurrant, marzipan, tobacco, dried flowers and woodsy underbrush, complicated by suggestions of leather and white fruits. Lush, sexy and sweet; this is stuffed with pliant flavors of red fruits, underbrush and dried flowers. Finishes smooth and long, with excellent verve. Very satisfying barbera." - Stephen Tanzer (Mar '10)

A high quality wine which ages well in 3 to 4 years, deep ruby red with shades of violet with a fresh, rich, fruity bouquet, full bodied with intense fragrances of woodland, pleasantly tannic and a slightly almond final note. It has the same basic characteristics of the Dolcetto DOC, notable for separate fermentation of grapes which come from a balanced blending of the Dolcetto grapes of the oldest vineyards in the Einaudi estates. Located on the “sorì” (South facing) of Madonna delle Grazie, San Giacomo and San Luigi in Dogliani. Of a dry and moderately acidic taste, after a year of ageing in steel and two months of refinement in glass, it has a good body and full taste with a final almond note, typical of this wine.
