93 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"A blend of 30% Malbec, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, this opens with aromas of ripe blackberries, Mediterranean herbs and cedar. The firmly structured palate doles out layers of black currants, blackberries, white pepper and licorice alongside chewy tannins. Drink through 2022." - Kerin O’Keefe (3/1/2017)

About the Wine:
Mundus Bacillus Terrae Malbec pays homage to the bacteria living in the Adrianna Vineyard soil. The 1.4 hectare parcel are filled with scattered limestone and marine deposits that covered the region millions of years ago. The limestone layers are well-drained and particularly rich in rhizobacteria, the microorganisms that aid vine survival in the stressful, high altitude and nutrient-poor conditions of the Adrianna. Thus, the name “mundus bacillus terrae” or “elegant microbes of the earth.” These struggling vines reward us with a wine of remarkable concentration and great acidity, with powerful flavors of black and red fruits alongside of lavender, wood and minerals.

"One of the most complex and floral Chevals. Full to medium body, ultra-fine. How I tasted." - (Friday, May 20, 2016)

"Fabulous aromas of blackberry, spice and flower. Perfumed. Lavender, rose and lilac too. A wine that grows on the palate with extreme finesse and complexity that shows ultra-fine tannins, currants, and flowers. Super length. Mostly mablec with cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. Best Cheval des Andes ever? Drink or hold." - (May 31, 2015)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2013 Proprietary Red 19 Block Mountain Cuvée is a blend of 61% Malbec, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Syrah, all from the estate on Mt. Veeder. This blend has worked well, exhibiting an opaque purple color, a beautiful nose of incense, camphor, blackberry, licorice and a touch of espresso. It is full-bodied and concentrated, but with supple tannins and a roundness and juiciness – even for a 2013. This should age nicely for at least 10 or more years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (30th Dec 2016)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Mount Veeder (80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Malbec) was one of the top wines presented to me. This wine needs another 4-5 years of cellaring and could keep 30 years. A beautiful nose of white flowers, graphite, blueberry and blackberry liqueur, along with the telltale cassis and tobacco leaf are all present in this wine, which offers great intensity and full-bodied power in a well-delineated and moderately structured style. Give the wine some time and watch it unfold. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2025+. For the quality, it is a reasonably priced wine, and there are 7,480 cases." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Dec 2015)

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
This Malbec-led blend (with Petit Verdot and Tannat) is muscular and piercing on the nose, with aromas of brick dust, black cherry, cassis and raisin. The palate is saturated and creamy, with a lactic sensation competing with rubbery tannins. Flavors of vanilla, raw oak, tomato, plum, herbs and chocolate are complex and finish with multiple interest points along with mild heat. Give this more time, if possible. Best from 2018 through 2022. - Michael Schachner (July 1st, 2016)
