96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The awesome 2010 Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard turned out to be one of my favorite wines of all that I tasted from Argentina, a wine that has me daydreaming of Gualtallary and the amazing Adrianna vineyard which is also the source of the superb White Bones and White Stones Chardonnays. Here the Malbec, grown at 1,480 meters above sea level in the Tupungato quarter of the Uco Valley, in the commune of Gualtallary where the soils are rich in calcium carbonate, is co-fermented with a little (7%) Viognier from that very same vineyard. It produces a sappy, tasty, umami-driven wine that has very high acidity (almost citric), 6.5 grams of it – so you might not like this wine if you prefer low acidity ones. It is austere and straight, but it packs quite a punch. The nose is somehow reticent, but it slowly displays floral notes and aromas of ripe fruit, some spices and aromatic herbs. The palate is also austere and straight, a very mineral wine, with a texture and an electricity akin to licking a chalky stone. This is a wine to age, very concentrated, with high natural acidity. It is a soil wine, not a fruit wine. It needs time in bottle. Drink 2016-2022." - Luis Gutierrez (Apr 2014)

93 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Concentrated and polished, this dark red exhibits a deep well of macerated blackberry, cassis and plum skin notes supported by full yet fine-grained tannins and ample acidity, which keeps the long, licorice- and mineral-accented finish moving. Drink now through 2017. 200 cases imported." – NW (Oct 31, 2012)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2010 Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino is a blend of grapes from Adrianna and Nicasia, from the deepest, coolest soils in those vineyards, in Gualtallary and Altamira. They were looking for something that represents the essence of Malbec. The first vintage for this wine was 2004, when they finally found the blend and character they were looking for. The name they wanted to use for the wine was Malbec Puro, but they didn’t want any confusion with cigars, so they called it Malbec Argentino instead! It is very aromatic with floral notes, mainly violets and blue fruit, and is nicely defined. It is opulent with sweet tannins but with the hallmark of the freshness found in all the wines from those two vineyards, precise and long. Drink 2015-2020." - Luis Gutierrez (Apr 2014)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2010 Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard is a single-vineyard Malbec from their vines from Nicasia in Altamira (La Consulta) in the south of the Uco Valley, a chalk-rich zone that is quickly gaining ground on the terroir map of Mendoza. The grapes were barrel fermented with 5% Cabernet Franc. The grapes were harvested at six different points in time, depending on the difference of soils in the vineyard. I see quite ripe fruit here, a round wine, with some black fruit, notes of ripe melon, very spicy, and also flavors of sweet ripe fruit with round and polished, sweet tannins, very tasty but also with very good freshness and high acidity (it has 6.1 grams of acidity). Drink 2014-2018." - Luis Gutierrez (Apr 2014)

Clos la Coutale wine is produced from Malbec and Merlot grapes. The yield is on average 45hl/ha which enables good maturation and regular quality over the years. Vinification is carried out in thermo-controlled vats, and regular
"pigeages'' (breaking-up of the layer formed on top of the juice) both ensure maximum extraction of the "bouquet" and the fruit. Clos la Coutale is then elaborated in oak barrels to obtain a full balance between the tannins and the fruit.

Wine Spectator (2011 Vintage):
"A jammy red, backed by vibrant acidity to the chewy layers of plum skin, blueberry and blackberry fruit, as assertive tannins settle in on the dark, minerally finish. Drink now. 8,000 cases imported." –NW (2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2011 vintage):
"The 2011 Montes Twins is a blend of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon with a very dark color and a black nose of fountain pen ink, licorice and peat, the fruit also black, and a medium-bodied palate with intense flavors, quite powerful and concentrated. Drink now." Luis Gutierrez (June 2014)
