Tasting Notes:

Our 2007 A to Z Pinot Noir is true to variety and vintage with bold aromatics and a palate to please. This wine has moderately-deep color and a tannin profile to match. The dark spices on the nose and palate complement the flavors you would expect from a good Oregon Pinot Noir: blackberry, raspberry, black cherry and earth. The oak profile is restrained and the natural acidity from the 2007 vintage gives the wine precision and tautness.

Wine:

The 2007 A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir is blended from wines made from at least thirty different vineyards representing all of the Oregon AVAs that grow Pinot Noir. We take great care of many months to craft one cuvee each vintage creating a compled blend that embodies The Essence of Oregon. Bottled in July and August 2008, we made 64,000 750 ml bottle cases.

Vintage:

A wet damp spring necessitated more sprays then normal to keep mildew at bay in a challenging year. We had great weather for flowering and set a good crop in the Willamette Valley. Harvest was difficult with slow picking around storms. For those who kept up with the summer's challenges, contained the desease pressure and waited to pick, there was little rot and some high brix levels in the vineyards. We closed out the harvest in the Willamette Valley on Halloween.

"This is a good value, entry level Pinot Noir showing a medium ruby color and aromas of mushroom and earth with a violet note. It’s quite light but silky on the palate with some dark cherry fruit flavor and finishes with just a touch of sweetness." (April 2009)
