Yummy and not so simple |

Many Napa Cabs and Merlots under $20 seek to tickle the sweet tooth with ripe cherry-chocolate flavors and lots of oak. This Bordeaux style blend somehow succeeds at delivering yummy drinkability, while also offering dusty mineral and rust fragrances with a subtle layer of herbal complexity, tobacco, a few grassy twists in the middle before finishing in an open texture with gentle opulence. Such layers make this more food-friendly (grilled skirt steak, dry aged cheeses) although also wonderful on its own.
