September 6th, 2009
From 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
At Artisan Wine Depot - 400 A Villa St. Mountain View, CA 94041

Some of the (arguably)best wines in the entire world are produced only a few cities away from us. We invite you to join us in our Tour of Napa Valley Wine Tasting Event. We are pouring six (6) highly acclaimed, fantastic wines. BV, Pine Ridge, Darioush, Ramey Cellars & Dominus are the wineries we are visiting that day.

This is a walk-around tasting event, you may come by anytime between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

We will be pouring the following wines at this event:

Beaulieu Vineyards BV Carneros Chardonnay 2007 (Napa Valley, California)

$15.99

"BEST BUY" DESIGNATION

Our 2007 Carneros Napa Valley Chardonnay displays vibrant stone fruit—peach, nectarine and apricot—character from our vineyards in the southern, coolest region of Napa Valley. Soft vanilla oak tones add complexity to the fruity aromas, silky flavors and lingering finish. This dry, crisply balanced wine makes the perfect prelude to a meal, especially with seafood appetizers or fruit and creamy cheeses. It’s an elegant complement to entrées, especially tarragon-crusted halibut, roast chicken or pork, and creamy pasta dishes.
Pine Ridge Dijon Clones Carneros Chardonnay 2006 (Napa Valley, California)

$19.99

Tropical fruit aromas of peach and nectarine are delicately woven with lemon zest, vanilla and toast on the nose. This medium to full-bodied Chardonnay is teeming with a vibrant array of citrus flavors, bright acidity and a creamy, silky texture that gives way to a subtle toasty component. The finish of stone fruits and lemon peel lingers on the palate, complementing the excellent balance that has become a hallmark of the Dijon clones bottling. This wine may be enjoyed now or cellared for up to five years.

The Wine News - 90 Points:
"Light pineapple aromas with hints of vanilla and apple butter. Ripe pineapple and apricot flavors with very fresh, crisp acidity. Dry, racy finish with a youthful citrus peel bite." July, 2008
Darioush Caravan Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (Napa Valley, California)

$39.99

Caravan shares the pedigree of Darioush’s Signature wines, but displays more ripe fruit, and a rounder palate with an elegantly textured finish. Each vintage is comprised of a unique blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from our Napa Valley estate -- lending more brightness and depth of flavor to the finished wine.

Ripe and juicy flavors of black cherry, licorice and plum introduce this approachable Cabernet Sauvignon. Flavors of cola, bakers chocolate and French roast coffee linger on a soft and round midpalate. A smooth, lingering finish reveals hints of black pepper, cedar and spice.

$39.99

A dense ruby hue hints at the intensity of this young, bright wine. Aromas of blueberry, red cherry and raspberry are accented by darker notes of coffee bean, spicy bramble and hints of caramel. The palate is equally inviting, opening with fresh, sweet dark berry and baked cherry fruit before the firm tannins take hold and carry the long finish through deeper tones of black tea, briar and toasty oak. Decant for 30 minutes to allow this youthful wine to open up to its best flavors.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 91 Points
"The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as sweet, tarry, black currant, chocolate, cedar, and wood smoke-like flavors, and decent acidity. Drink it over the next 10-15 years." -Robert Parker, December 2007

Dominus Estate Napanook [Cabernet Sauvignon Blend] 2005 (Napa Valley, California)

$39.99

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 91 Points
"The dark ruby/purple-hued 2005 Napanook (76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot) reveals a big, spicy, tobacco, black currant, sweet cherry, new saddle leather, and loamy soil-scented bouquet. With attractive fruit, a soft, round, full-bodied mouthfeel, and beautiful complexity as well as balance, it is one of the most Bordeaux-like Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines made in Napa. This 2005 should drink easily for 10-12 years." -Robert Parker, December 2008
