Notes from the Winemaker:
There is something truly remarkable about young vine Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and therefore we wanted to create a wine to showcase this vibrant expression. Our Petit Clos Sauvignon Blanc, is intensely refreshing and juicy with concentrated bright fruit flavours. Hints of minerality come through, giving a taste of the wine’s Clos Henri origins and the Bourgeois family winegrowing style.

TASTING NOTE:
The 2019 vintage ushers us in with a fresh, balanced and expressive Sauvignon Blanc. An inviting nose of stony minerality and blood orange develops into lifted notes of tropical fruits and lingering herbals. The mouth displays a fleshy, juicy texture, with flavors of peach and mango. The finish is crisp and refreshing with a touch of minerality.

WINEMAKING:
The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain fruit purity and flavor; it was then aged on fine yeast lees for three months. Lees stirring over this time allows the wine to stabilize naturally, enabling us to fine the wine only once before a light, non-sterile filtration. This extended lee contact also helps the wine to gain roundness and texture.

"This is a rich, highly aromatic vintage of Clos Henri’s Sauvignon. Like a nose full of dehydrated fruit (peaches and pineapples), candied ginger, pressed buttercups, grass and minerals, there’s a touch of oak influence here, too. Highly textural, the mouthfeel is rich and creamy but with vibrancy and freshness and a lengthy, tingly saline finish. A full-bodied, food-friendly drop now (try with a Thai curry), this has the ability to age until 2028" - Christina Pickard (September, 2020)
