Notes from the Winemaker:
The Domaine Eden Cabernet program is a combination of Bordeaux varieties, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Eden, Domaine Eden and three exquisite sites in Saratoga and Los Gatos. It is a true Bordeaux blend encompassing the top five Bordeaux grapes varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot with small additions of Petit Verdot and Malbec. The Mount Eden parameters of low yields, maximum maturity and cool climate viticulture are used to achieve balanced ripeness.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"The more affordable little sister of Mount Eden, this wine, which is bolstered by 15% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, offers black plum, wet river stones, dusty herbs and wood spice on the nose. The palate focuses on minerality, structure and savory flavors, including subtle lavender and black plum. The structure will last for ages. Drink 2020–2036. Matt Kettmann" - (10/1/2019)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Offering plenty of red fruits, toasted spice and underbrush aromas and flavors, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is medium-bodied, supple, nicely polished and balanced, with chewy tannin and tons of charm. It shows classic Santa Cruz Mountain character and will drink nicely for 7-8 years. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, all of which spent 22 months in equal parts French and American oak." - Jeb Dunnuck (28th Oct 2016)
